I'm using the Economist, an extremely pro-capitalist paper, and just generally-accepted fact everywhere. If you were allowed to know what was going on you'd know this, but you live under an essentially one-party moneymen's dictatorship, as you know, which is why the peasantry are always demanding proof that the world is not flat (usually answered from Wikipedia). As you know, the rich are allowed to buy elections in your country, and the media are not requred to tell the truth at all: that is their 'free speech'.

Most countries are ruled by the rich, but in most they have to hide that fact. You peasants are the only mugs who accept it.

What is the figure you are referencing from the Economist though? Which statistic or study?

So being blinded from the truth is better than openly knowing and accepting it even though it is inconvenient? There are plenty of people for political finance reform, but not quite enough just yet.

Is it better then (in your opinion), to be enlightened as to your position, and perhaps exert moderate control...or to dwell in the bliss of ignorance?

Who is "they"? I think for myself, I'm not told what to believe. And no one said they are all thieves...

And you still avoided the question of whether it is better to know about something bad or to be blind to it. Some things might be bad but still logistically not possible to change or subject to only gradual, slower change. Everything can't be changed to perfection over night.

You keep moving onto other topics. That aside, since you seem to think you know about how everything works, why don't you change it all to what's right in whatever country you are in (unless you think it is perfect- I'd be curious to know which country if that is the case)? Or is the issue that you alone can't do much - i.e. it is a logistical problem like I already suggested.

So America has a bunch of "peasants" because they aren't doing anything about what you think is a major issue, but when it comes to you, it is okay that you don't do anything because you think doing something will make you a dictator? I don't understand your logic.

Who are these masters you speak of? What proof do you have of this? I am guessing you've never been to the states and are maybe basing this off of some sort of propaganda... (which would make your whole argument quite ironic)

You certainly do stereotype...we all do. This is a means of filling in gaps in the knowledge base. Unfortunately, it also pisses off the people typed.
As Americans, we are extremely diverse, and thus typing the country is kinda silly. Similar to me claiming everyone in the UK bows to royalty, and wants a nanny state to save them from a Muslim invasion.
Many here are well aware of the issues of corruption, wealth inequality, stagnant government, etc...and so we try to fix them, we vote, we occupy, we bitch just like you are.

While I accept your right to belittle my country from afar....I have yet to see you explain how you have it better, let alone show any prideful comment about where you live.

Hell...where do you originate?

Well, big deal. We have minor parties too, but they do not form governments.

One need only look at the Tea Party over here to see what can happen, unfortunately this "Grass Roots" movement has been detrimental to our system thus far (IMHO).
