I just read an article about thriving for american dream and how it is percieved from another point of view. It leaves me stunned how many people believe in a big "american dream" but at the same time they let themselves be ruled by big corporations. People do not think about how much corporations rule their life. Only after they realize that they are not free until they see the big picture they have to be sleep in order to achieve american dream.
This is not just a dream, it should be a way of life. a way of freedom.
What do you guys think would be corporations thriving for if they announce "american dream" in their advertising campaigns.

It still exists.....as nothing but the dream it has always been.
It is like so many things I once believed in. No longer available for me. That is because I have not had any hopes or dreams in years.

The American Dream exists. My parents are proof. But the American Dream is an abstract idea and as always it is what you make of it. The opportunity still exists in America if you are willing to work for it though.

I guarantee the American dream exists, as an immigrant I became a citizen and pressured my passion and have become rather successful at it. I am the master of my own destiny, isn't that this manifest destiny the founding fathers spoke of?

Perhaps dodge it is time to dream a new dream, no offense but things in life change, this is the best country to do such things in. Its never to late.

It is very much too late for me. There is nowhere for me to go but down. I am older and sicker as time goes on. And I have more today than I will ever have again. I have been on a down slide for the last 40 or so years. And nothing will change that. Not complaining about, it is just a fact.

Not fact- anything can happen. But a lot of it has to do it with your own outlook. I think you can choose to be happy, I just wish you were.

True enough. But there have been millions of people that worked just as hard for just as long with very little to show for it. Sometimes it just does not work out. There are also many that have gained a lot through very little effort on their part. Being down does not always mean they are lazy.

Okay I will just choose to be younger, healthier, and very handsome.:D The days of changing my life are gone. Much easier to change your life in your 20s than in your 60s and 70s.

Sunk costs are sunk costs- you can't choose to be younger. But we all have those- just gotta look at the silver lining. You have more life experience than us younger ones- you're less likely to make stupid decisions, etc.

As for being healthier, you can do that to an extent. But again, what you can't control you can't control- why make your health even worse or your state of being even worse by thinking about how you can't control what you can't control?

And handsomeness- beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I'm sure you look great, Dodge, just ask your wife or dogs :p

Oh I am looking better. I have lost about 30 pounds since I got out of the hospital in February. Old Dodge was almost deleted, but they used my wife and dogs against me.:(
