Here is a little discussion that I hope might be interesting. I think that Andrew Jackson gets demonized more so than he should simply because he signed the Indian Removal Act. However the actually act occurred during the Martin Van Buren presidency. While Jackson was in no means a lover of Native Americans, it really wasn't him who got his hands bloodied. Shouldn't the overall blame be placed on his predecessor? I mean once Van Buren got into office he could have repelled the act.. What do you think?
