What you wrote above really says it all. If I attacked you personally like you did to me then I would have addressed you personally but I did not but you cannot even grasp that fact. You claim not to be stupid but then go and make a statement above that contradicts that.
clax, that statement is not slander towards you. He spoke ill of all Americans. It is unfortunate that he did and I strongly disagree with such stereotypes (I too am an American), but that is not slander towards you- it would not hold up a court of law because it is a general statement.

This is great, this thread was related to bailouts, and, as usual, two people´s argument spoils the thread, and , what is worse, now it will come an endless: "You said it", "No, I didn´t", "Yes you did" ...and you won´t discuss the main point,...just great.

spelling errors are one thing but not understanding the meaning of words that is a fundamental, I know illerterate people who understand what words mean.
The only thing I can think of is that they are nervous. all the money we gave them, anyone with stable credit should get a loan.
I share your sentament completely.
What should of been done: Take the bailout money to bankroll gov't chartered banks. Allow the big banks to fail, and have the FDIC move the effected accounts into the new banks. Once the dust settled, reform the banks into credit unions. Everyone would of kept their money, healthy banks would have existed to fuel the economy and the folks who destroyed the economy wouldn't of gotten $150 million bonuses.
