Build Parking Lots instead of liquor stores

It would be nice if the city would help build some parking lots for the churches instead of handing out liquor licenses left and right.

If you don't "arrive early or stand in line" at church, you don't get a seat or parking spot around here!

Our community doesn't allow alcohol sales within 500 yards of church, so you know they aint gonna give the churches any more leeway!

I highly doubt the city will directly aid in assisting a church like that, however a public parking lot instead of a liquor store on the other hand might be beneficial. But this would mean that the city would be profiting off it, not the church.

It will still be of benefit to the church members though, as they will be able to find parking - at a price of course..

I thought it was the churches' responsibility to pay for its parking lots? Why would the government pay for them?

Lol, what city do you exactly live in? Haven't heard of this case in a while.. (or ever), but I think there's more interest in liquor stores than churches to be honest, and that's the sad truth. And everyone does what everyone wants, so yeah, feel sorry for your community o_O'

If there's more interest in the liquor store then the church, then I don't think there should be a church in your city/village... Yes every church should have a parking lot, but I don't believe they should charge for it... and anyways, a lot of people nowadays that go to church either walk or take the bus, not car ;)

Sounds like a Curious George movie, if you substitute Church for Museum and tear it down to build the parking lot.

Liquor stores bring revenue, revenue helps to create jobs so that people will be employed paving lots for Churches...

Liquor stores also make the religious feel guilty, they donate more when they feel guilty. It's a win-win...

I think liquor stores should be built onto the churches, since they are both in the business of promoting spirits, that way they could share in the cost and upkeep of the parking lot.

Or you know... you could WALK to church. There's pretty much one on every corner in the city I live. Why would the CITY build church parking spots. I'm atheist and I don't want my tax dollars going towards church parking lots. The church can fund their own purchasing of land and parking spots - just like businesses purchase the liquor licenses and their own parking lots.

Haha, gold man, pure gold.

It is sad how people don't pay attention to these important things. I think people should be more outspoken about these things.
