3. We have a civilian secretary of defense along with civilian branch chiefs. I realize the secretary of defense is a former military general. However, he has been willing to speak up in opposition to Trump.
4. We have a military which will oppose dictatorial actions by the president. That military swore to uphold the constitution, not the president and they, like me, take that oath very seriously.
5. Finally, we have a well armed civilian population which will oppose the president in the event that he oversteps his authority to the extent that such action is needed. It is very doubtful that the military would take up arms against that civilian population.
6. In short, I have faith in our system.

I am looking at it with first hand knowledge. Not from a bunch of anit-US books quoted by someone who hates the US to start with.
And yet here we have numan spending much of his time trying to convince us how superior Canada is. Ironic, isn't it, that the survey he endorsed to show the superiority of Canada is so favorable towards the US? It contradicts just about everything you and numan have to say.
None of my three kids have "disappeared". They all live unique (from each other) and fascinating lives; the oldest (37) is a software architect for Amazon in Portland, OR (he used to work for HP), middle son (34) is a police investigative officer, and lives next door to us in Ft. Pierce, FL, and our youngest (25) in Hollywood, CA area is in movie, music video, and TV commercial production business, owning his own lighting & electrical grip company.
