apparently Dr. Who turns 50 today? Google has a pretty neat little tribute/game.

I'm a big fan but only recently since Michael Smith took over the role. I liked his quirky, nerdy, fast processing style.

anyone else a fan? if so for how long?

All 13 Doctors (however briefly) in 1 ep... I was in haven. lol

"Hello, I'm the Doctor."
"Me too!"
"And me"

I did not watch as I am not a big fan and have limited free time....but from this simple comment I quite easily figured out that there were either cameos or edited snippets of all the previous incarnations of the Doctor in the episode.

The only thing I did not get would be the Military Types comment.

Not to give too many spoilers but there was a battle and Doctors 8, 10 and 11 (and then after the WTF moment, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 12 and 13) showed up and announced themselves. suffice it to say everyone was scared of the Doctor so when 3 of them reported in they freaked out and were 1/2 expecting to get killed.

Christopher Eccleston (the 9th doctor, a single season) must have really hated the Doctor Who crew as he refused to make even a small appearance in the 50th anniversary special.

Spoiler: Yep, every Doctor incarnation showed up in the battle between the Time Lords vs. the Daleks, to defeat the Daleks and save the universe... and maybe Gallifrey.

Time Travel is one of the most annoying and silly sci-fi cards. Ironically, I like Doctor Who. Anyway, how can there be more Time Lords out there when Doctor who travels through time, even to the end of time, and he hasn't found these Time Lords? And, then there's that dope about these previous Doctor Who incarnations not remembering their role and vanishing the planet?

for most of Doctor Who there were Time Lords. It was after the Time War that the Time Lords disappeared. Even then there were others, the Master, the whole planet of Galifray showed up in 1 episode, Donna and Rose (they were originally Human but things happened), the Doctor's 'daughter' (really a female clone of the Doctor), the partial regeneration of the 8th Doctor that went with Rose to the parallel universe and of course River Song, the Doctor's wife.
