Dragons?

Obviously they don't exist any more, and seem to be purely mythical, but at the same time we do have proof that dinosaurs existed.

And there is still some dragon looking lizards left if I'm not mistaken, but they certainly don't fly nor breathe out fire!

Therefore I think it's possible that at one point perhaps some sort of dragon like creature might have existed, or perhaps a dinosaur corpse that looked like a dragon was found and it inspired the whole dragon movement.

As for a dragon in modern day society, I highly doubt it but there might be a miniature version of something similar somewhere in the world that has not yet been discovered, that could be possible, but I doubt the fire part.

It's unlikely that dragons ever existed. There were definitely some big lizards though (and other cool stuff like giant beavers that could kill you). Definitely some cool animals in our past.

I believe its been theorized by others that dragons were early attempts to explain the discovery of large dinosaur fossils. That sounds about right to me.

What's more interesting is that dragons seem to be part of a subconscious awareness. Both China and Medieval Europe depict fairly similar dragons before they were ever in contact. It seems to be some leftover bit of knowledge.

Maybe they existed maybe they didn't, well I believe there must have been a dinosaur that breathed fire, and could fly, but maybe it didn't look the same... keep digging :p

I highly doubt the fire part as there hasn't been any evidence that I recall hearing of, that proves that any real creature has been able to do such a thing.

It is possible that perhaps they might have been able to blow a great amount of warm air somehow, but not actual fire.

Yeah that's true Parakeet, a long long time ago, fire was considered one of the most important things of mankind, in fact there was even a person that's job was to carry fire... must have got mixed up somehow. And Akuma your probably right, there must have been an animal that was able to blow hot air, and someone mistaked that for fire, something like that :p

I can honestly say i've never heard something like this before, haha. But yeah, I don't think anything like dragons has ever existed. Closest thing would be dinosaurs.

if you had seen the many videos I have seen and all the unique documents then I think you might all start to change your minds about exactly what you think is and isn't real. There are many things like dragons that people claim existed and yet so many people just call it a mythwithout ever actually conducting their own personal research into it. Look around China and japanese waters and see some of the amazing creatures that come out of those waters. They are like eels mixed with cat whiskers and there are severla awesome videos floating around, though they do NOT breath fire or fly around, at least not the ones I've seen.

If you have links to any of these videos or pictures please post them as I'd like to see some of these things. But I'm a little confused because it seems your leaning towards the existence of creatures such as dragons, but refuting it at the same time?

I apologize if I'm misreading it however.

Of course...the secret is that dragons exist. They're just small. And don't fly. And don't breathe fire. That's like the eagle in my avatar. She may be small and yellow but she's obviously an eagle. What other conclusion could reach?

Dragons never existed. They were a popular bit of mythology that is lodged within our universal subconscious. They were probably based off of surviving reptiles and dinosaur bones. Occam's razor is your friend.

Please explain how a creature would breathe fire. They would have to be able to create a combustible substance and safely store it. Then ignite it safely without burning their face off.

How would that even be that useful anyway. Why burn everything to ash when you could just smash or slash it?

blah

I dunno, if I could breath fire I would definitely do it! Nicely cooked meals, vicious weapon, fun at parties...

But yeah, I can't imagine such a beast actually existing... Unless they were either aliens or really smart reptiles that had flying machines and flame throwers... Cooooool.

LOL, I don't have time to give you all the links to footage I have, though if you lived in Australia I could just send you a 1TB HDD full of the best footages of everything from UFO's - Aliens - Mystical Creatures - HARRP - Nibiru etc etc etc. The more you learn about all subjects the greater understanding you have of everything. So as I can't link you to everything, here is the 1st link I dug up!

The dragon is on the chinese zodiac/new year calendar and it some round once every 12 years, the next one being in 2012. What I would like to know is what are the other animals? Are they all real live living creatures? From memory I think they are and hense the dragon must have been/probably still is a living creature. I think it is a water animal if anything, though it would be awesome to walk down the street and see a good old dragon flying by! LOL, just imagine all the people that would be like that's not real, it must be your eyes playing tricks on you. LOL

I've never been interested in Dragons. I don't know why. My Daddy loves them. Maybe that has something to do with it. The only Dragon i really like is Shenron from Dragon Ball. I mean, he grants wishes! He just doesn't fly around and breath fire for no reason.

When I was still a kid, I'm pretty amazed with dragons because it can fly and breath flames. Definitely one of the most powerful creature ever existed.

I also liked ShenRon. If dragons do exists, I will definitely look for the one like him.

Dragons are mainly large lizards. A mythical creature mostly seen on fairy tales, fantasy films and urban legends. i've read sometime in the past that komodo dragon is one of their descendants. It doesn't breath fire but it do have a bad breath with can poison anyone.

I think travellers from spain and all over the world (back in the day) basically found small islands where you find "big" lizards (iguana's -if I am spelling that correct gosh!) and I bet people saw these massive lizards and thought they were dragons. Same for eastern mythology, but there again a dragon can be a serpent that symbolizes many things.

Personally I adore dragons and I have almost seen most movies that involve dragons (even the cheesy movies).

Dragons could have existed. obviously they were just a more dangerous species and a little bigger than the ones we see now. There have been known to be related species that keep evolving so there is no cancelling the fact that they existed.

There's a caterpillar called a "spitfire". It's called this because what it spits onto your skin burns like acid. It honestly feels like you're burning.

I think that maybe breathing fire was taken too literally. A dragon could have been the size of a horse, and could have hissed out something that felt like it was burning you. I mean seriously, everyone exaggerates things and to be honest folk talkes, myths, legends....those things have been eggagerated SO many times it's not funny.

And cave drawings with dragons in them? Have you ever drawn a strange creature for fun? I do it all the time.

Anyone see, How to train a dragon? Excellent cartoon movie IMO. However, I grew up being a fan of the Paolini series so I have to be honest and say I wished dragons were legit. Nothing quite like that movie Reign of Fire to bring some excitement into our lives.
