Fireworks on Christmas Eve-Is There Anything Dumber ?

Shooting off fireworks has always been kind of a dumb thing to do, especially for the stress it puts on dogs & cats (and maybe other types of pets). It's annoying as hell also to anyone sick, needing to sleep, the elderly, or people sensitive to noise.

Although fireworks used to be only a thing done on the 4th of July, in recent years, it has come to be a problem on New Year's Eve too. What's really bothersome though is that now the fireworks idiots have chosen Christmas Eve as a time to make their noise. Time to make a stand here now.

EARTH TO FIREWORKS USERS: You DO NOT shoot off fireworks on Christmas Eve. Got that ? Christmas Eve is the one night of the year that is supposed to be peaceful and quiet, in honor of the the birth of the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ. Ever hear of "SILENT Night"? It refers to Christmas Eve. A night we all are SILENT and peaceful. It is the 3rd best-selling single song of all time after "White Christmas" and "Candle in the Wind" (the Elton John song about Princess Diana).

So whatever happened to the SILENT night we used to love and cherish on Christmas Eve ? Apparently, it's been replaced by obnoxious noise, worse than anything I've heard since I was in the US Army. It's a ruin of our most cherished night of the year by childish, mindless fools, and the greed freak hustlers who set up fireworks tents, to sell this crap whenever they can, no matter the damage they impose on everyone.

If society is going to tolerate fireworks (something which is supposed to be illegal), they should close the stupid bird-chasing loopholes, or whatever it is, and stop the sale of this trash to the public (it's even sold in supermarkets). It should be done for people who enjoy it, only in government-run shows that people can attend if THEY want to, and not be imposed on all of us right outside the windows of our homes.

And it really shouldn't be done on Christmas Eve, a time to be at home in peace & quiet, not out shooting off fireworks, which is disrespectful to Jesus Christ and the religion of Christianity, and a disgrace upon our society and culture.

In the minds of idiots, I suppose.

Though I do not wish to insult others with the term idiot. What seems more confused?:

1) A person celebrating an ancient tradition, well documented and understood as historically valid, celebrated and true.

2) A person celebrating a tradition well understood to be invalid, made up, and motivated by a need to remove opposition to religious dogma.

I would prefer to have a party with something worth partying over...than one some one said I should have just....because.
