Fox Mocking Canadian Forces

You know, this kind of crap isn't surprising coming from Fox. They have the longest history of controversial comments of any other news network.

Canadian troops have indeed helped us far more than other countries and stuck with us even when others left. For such a pro-war network, it's a little surprising actually.

EDIT: Looks like Gutfield issued an apology:

"However, I realize that my words may have been misunderstood," Gutfeld said in a statement released by Fox News.

"It was not my intent to disrespect the brave men, women and families of the Canadian military, and for that I apologize.

He should have just been smart and criticized the French . No one would have batted an eye .

I personally see this all as a bit of an over-reaction. I don't know many people who don't make fun of Canada. It's just kind of a thing. I assume Canadians joke about us being gung-ho rednecks (if they don't then they should ).

He probably shouldn't have said it on the news. It also made the awful sin of not being that funny. I've heard much better . It really just made him look stupid.

I look at this like Obama's "mistake" on Leno (something about saying his Wii bowling skills looked like the special Olympics). Not the best thing to say, not PC, but average people make that joke.

Well, it's Fox, and they have a conservative agenda. Or should I say near-fascist? Now MSN has a liberal agenda, but at least they are funny.

You may find it funny, but many conservatives such as myself can't watch most shows on that channel without grinding our teeth. Fox is biased, but so is virtually every other news station. At times they definitely take it too far (as in this case) though.

The only thing I'll give Fox credit for is that they seem to be aware of the bias. The somewhat liberal media doesn't seem to be aware of their slant and tend to have a good bit of righteous indignation believing that they are saying the undeniable truth.

Fox is a station primarily composed of Republican pundits. It is what it is.

Except for MSNBC, there is no liberal media, as far as I can tell. There are just different degrees of conservatism. And I think MSNBC is very aware of their bias.

I see it like that too and like MYP also grind my teeth when I am looking at some of the TV news stories, there should be some rule about things like these, as at least we have a little bit of intelligence to notice it, but others may take it as gospel. Regarding an earlier comment by Delta, Canadians took the Sept11 event very personal. They were as much in shock as anyone else in the United States. Also, credit should be given to a large number of Canadians who are working in the field of health and social welfare in Afghanistan, and who perhaps are taking an even greater risk with their lives as they are not always protected by the military.

I have to include CBS and ABC in that liberal media bunch. They are just not as wild and crazed about it as MSNBC.
