So if Pope Francis reminded Catholics to not rape and pillage whenever life got hard and called out the crazies in Africa, you'd be opposed to it?

I'm sorry, another request for you to read my posts.....please. I asked a question and you responded to it with......this......another question.

Once again, can I please have an answer. You believe what is needed in the Muslim world is a "Caliph" that would be moderate and "keep" muslims true to their faith and declare who is "heretical" correct?<that lil mark there presents a query, a question to be answered, thanks.

I did answer your question, you just don't like being called out.

You didn't answer my question, you asked another question. And I haven't ever been "called out" on this forum...please. But it doesn't matter that we disagree there, I'm going to remain on content, I'm not interested in other's trollings. Thanks.

I seriously doubt you don't understand my response but on the off chance you're not playing dumb, I'll explain it. If you oppose Pope Francis doing what I said, you've got some messed up priorities. If you don't, then you're being hypocritical because that's exacly what I'm calling for on the Islamic side. Do keep in mind Islam is supposed to have a Caliphate (the question of who should be the Caliph is the whole point of the Shiite/Sunni split), not having 1 in place has completely undermined the Islamic hierarchy allowing every crazy but charismatic imam (or wannabe imam) to twist Islamic teachings as they will and inspire the chaos that the Islamic world is dealing with. I'm not arguing for theocracy, only that Islamic leadership be restored to bring the crazies to heel.

Many socialists including Marx and others supported "leadership" in the Communist world too......to bring the crazies to heel. Not to mention, the Muslim world engaged in most of its' heinous conquests and slaughter under Caliphates.

What the Muslim world needs.....is self determination. The fact that you think they need some form of dictator displays what I think is misplaced priority. Allow them to believe what they want....David. Allow self determination and freedom of information in determining who is 'heretical', who needs to be 'kept to their faith'. Just like today's Pope does. He doesn't mandate. He preaches peace and unity, he wasn't elected to bring any crazies to heel...his purpose not to delcare who is 'heretical' in fact, he's calling on an outreach to the Muslim world.....as he should. Rather than visiting a Caliph, he reaches out to people. See the difference, David?

The pope doesn't mandate? That's his job... You're trying vary hard to simultaneously support and oppose religious leadership and I'm finding your mental gymnastics to be most entertaining.

No our Pope doesn't mandate. And Catholics have Religious Orders who have quite different beliefs and methods of faith. Jesuits, Dominicans, Benedictines, Franciscans, Salesians, etc. The Pope doesn't "mandate" to these separate Orders, their traditions and teachings all very much alive.

I believe your lack of knowledge concerning the Catholic Church is evident.

Once again 'moderate caliph' and 'I'm not arguing for theocracy'. Try reading before responding. I'm arguing for exactly what the pope is and you're trying to play games to avoid admitting you just don't like Muslims.

You make an analogy to the Pope for a Muslim Caliph pretending to know what the Pope's "job" is, get stood corrected, and then pretend this is all about me avoiding to admit I "don't like" someone?

Nice try, David. Your Pope analogy wasn't correct, you got called on it.....big time....and now want to take the offensive with this nonsense. That dog won't hunt, try again.:giggle:

lol Keep telling yourself that. The pope is the Bishop of Rome, head cleric of the Romans (the papacy predates Christianity by a few millenia), head of the Roman Rite, Patriarch of Rome and along with the Patriarch of Istanbul and Pope in Alexandria is a surviving member of the Greek Rite Patriarchy and is the Vizier of Christ. Yet you wish to insist his job isn't to preach and set doctrine? Did you sleep thru Pope Francis' predecessor's reign and the near schism his hardline rule almost caused?

Keep telling yourself that the human spirit and self determination require some kind of 'moderate' Caliph to declare "extremists heretical" and "keep Muslims true to their faith." I sense a socialist slant to much of your material, might I be correct?

Again, how is a caliph bad yet a pope good? Until you can reconcile your position, I'm not going to waste my time with your idiocy.

As explained, the Pope just reached out to the Muslim Community. And to the poor...the disadvantaged. While you're suggesting a need for a moderate Claiph to define 'heretical', Muslims needing to be kept to their faith.

Your socialist skirt is showing, that's not a criticism, it's an observation. You seem to be socialist in leanings, David, would I be correct? Nothing wrong with that mind you, the Catholic Church based on much socialism itself.

You lean left, huh?

And the pope doesn't do these same things? Do you know nothing of papal history?

Two questions David in response to my post clearly asking you two questions?

Once again.....you seem to be very socialist in your writings in here, might I be correct in ascertaining your political positions?

Please answer before I correct your colossal misunderstandings of Catholicism and the Pope's role within the Catholic Church, thanks.

I'd just like to point out you derailed this thread. Ether reconcile your position or get back on topic. Until you do, I'm not bothering with your idiocy.

I think that answers my question, thanks. I'm not wrong often and certainly wasn't here. Nice with the idiocy remark though, I would have been sanctioned for such language.

I tend to lean heavily right so we're polar opposites, what is the big deal. Why be embarrasssed?
