Governors asked Congress to pass a debt ceiling hike at their national meeting out of worries for their credit ratings. Governors of both parties signed the letter as Congress continues to push towards the August 2nd deadline.

Okay, I am going to try this one more time. This is my opinion. I do not ask anyone to agree with me.

I think the tea-party, the republicans, and the democrats should all be up for recall. Congress, Senate, and President.

None of them are giving us their best. There will be no grand deal. Maybe some trumped piece of crap that does nothing to help anything. I think they will cobble something together at the last minute so they can say they fought the good fight and it was the best they could do. They clearly have no respect for the people or the office they hold.

I like Warren Buffet's idea on fixing the deficit, the one he claims would end it in 5 minutes: “I could end the deficit in 5 minutes. You just pass a law that says that anytime there is a deficit of more than 3% of GDP all sitting members of congress are ineligible for reelection.”

Of course getting such a law passed is the hard part...

I liked the suggestion that members of Congress should be locked in the capital, and the air conditioning turned off. The doors stay locked until they have a deal.

Whether they reach a deal or not, whether it's a good deal or not, most of the damage has already been done.

Economics is psychology, and the whole world has now seen that that the world's leading economy is being managed by children.

I've pinned my hopes to the Mayan prophecy that the world will end on 12-21-2012. I can make it that far.

The debt ceiling should be raised yes, but cuts need to be made along with it. Our current spending:revenue ratio is not sustainable forever.

I tend to agree that if we're raising the debt ceiling we should at least balance the budget and stop the crazy spending to revenue ratio. Problem is... political ideology is making the entire debate into a mud slinging contest. I wish somebody would plaster a face palm poster on the capitol building after all this... Obama, his party, and the Republicans are being absolute imbeciles IMO with this debt ceiling debate

Don't mean to be a drama queen, but I've really started to wonder whether we are living on the eve of some truly historic event.

There are so many balls in the air right that could spin out of control, it's a bit hard to believe they will all land safely.

Saudi Arabia explodes, while the Euro collapses, as it finally truly dawns on everybody that the world's leading superpower has it's head up it's butt.

Each confidence busting event feeds the others, and the whole thing spins out of control.

Oh, don't forget those weapons piled up around our ears...

We're living in an anything could happen time.

I'm grateful to be 59. If it all ends next week, I can say I got my share.

For the most part my world ended years ago. So I agree let them all play their B.S. games. I already know there is nothing good in my future and plenty of bad.
