One day, a multi-billionaire named Amer invited his two "friends", Wa and Chin, to his house for a gambling session. While Wa and Chin were having their card game, Amer stood there as a spectator. Halfway through the game, Amer told them he was having diarrhoea and had to go to the toilet.
The gambling game started with each player placing a stake of two dollars. The stake increased gradually by a multiple of two for each new game. Thus each player had to place four dollars for the second game, eight dollars for the third game, sixteen dollars for the fourth game, and so on.
Wa was desperate after losing the 24th game. Together with a few earlier losses, he had lost a considerable amount of money. He told Chin: "Please excuse me. I think I have been infected with diarrhoea by Amer." Chin smiled: "Don't forget to come back. I can't wait to win all your money."
Wa went to the toilet and knocked at the door: "Amer, are you still there?" Back came a voice from inside the toilet: "Is the gambling session over?" Wa replied: "No, I have lost a lot of money. I can't afford to gamble anymore."
Amer said: "We can’t change horses in midstream. Go back and continue with the gambling. I am ready to back you with all my financial resources. I shall pay for whatever you lose from the next stake onwards. For every win, I will allow you to keep a portion of the money. Isn't this a very profitable deal for you?"
Wa laughed: "Certainly. There is no better job in the world than to work for others as a paid gambler."
After Wa left, Amer chuckled quietly to himself: "Old Chin, oh old Chin! How dare you to challenge me? You are not gambling with poor Wa, but with me, Amer, the richest man in the country. Wake up, dreamer, before you head for your downfall. Whenever you ask me not to side with Wa, I can't help laughing. Why shouldn't I take sides? I am not siding with anybody, but myself! Instead of looking behind you, you are behaving like a retard, thinking that a tiger is attacking you from inside a stream. Despite being a master of "proxy wars", you have entangled like a fly in a web of proxy war. Ha! Ha!"
As he laughed, he stood up, opened the toilet’s door and walked into the room to join Wa and Chin in their high stakes gambling.
