I am essentially a rock-ribbed conservative --- as "conservative" was understood in 19th century Britain.

The Republican Party is not a conservative party --- it is a cabal of billionaire oligarchs, snake-oil salesmen, militarists, and assorted other jingoes and crypto-fascists.

I would not think of voting Republican until they apologize for supporting the Iraq War, and until they urge that G. W. Bush and his cronies be tried as war criminals.

As the old Roman saying goes,

To have EVER called myself Republican. The party has become absolutely un-American and continues obstruction...this time opposing protecting our Constitution..

If it makes you feel any better I'm ashamed you were ever a republican too. :giggle:

Actually, when considering your online persona and the level of independent thought combined with obvious disregard for Constitutional norms and blind devotion to a personality cult.....yes I do feel a bit better.

I would recommend you folks consider the implications extrapolated going forward but, it would seem consideration and thought are not your forte.

oh don't be that way!

but seriously a "prosecutor" would be getting the cart before the horse. they have been "investigating" for months, even before the inauguration. if they had some silver bullet they would have certainly produced it by now.

you can't "prosecute" what you simply do not have. attention whores spouting hyperbole on tv and hipsters pretending they are in a revolution does not count for evidence.

Hopefully you have a better understanding of the situation than implied by this commentary. Prosecution is not in play as investigation is taking place as required before ANY prosecutor is needed. Often these investigations take years to gather data and even more so when dealing with the complexities and multitude of angles/individuals involved. Talking point mentality does not fit this issue in any way.

Ok.
what would trigger needing a prosecutor at this point?

When an investigation is completed, facts have been gathered that allow a prosecutor to put together a compelling case for charges to be filed....this is the way EVERY criminal case it brought to trial in court. Once in court witnesses testify, evidence is submitted, and the Judge/Jury decide on guilt and sentence. When an individual being investigated interferes with the investigation it can effect or damage, if not derail said investigation which is why it is illegal.

Apparently unless you are the President.
