Is there a secret group bent on world domination?

Unlikely, but who knows or really cares, they will fail.

Is there a group that controls vast portions of the world?

Yes...and they are bankers.

Not sure it's as important "who" they are, as just understanding that "they are". The global economy was the first step (which I don't believe will succeed either).

The groundwork militarily is now being emphasized (Navy: "A Global Force for Good"). Unless the world gets over it's "religiosity", there is approximately a 0% chance it can succeed (mo!)

I believe the existence of the Illuminate and the move toward a One World Government is much more than a conspiracy theory.

The videos I've seen have proven quite convincing. Even some of the predicted events have already happened. I want to say it isn't so, but I believe that this is something that could potential change the world.

the Illuminati were a group out of 18th century Bavaria who were thinkers caught up in the Age Of Enlightenment who wanted to bring in new ideas and change the status quo (aristocacies, church ' state) in Europe. The Illuminati's members pledged obedience to their superiors, and were divided into three main classes, each with several degrees. The order had its branches in most countries of the European continent; it had around 2,000 members over the span of 10 years. Rumours got going that they were trying to infiltrate all the governments of Europe as well as helping to facilitate the French Revolution. I time the group quarrelled amongst itself over leadership and succession and the Bavarian government in a secular edict brought the organization down . It lasted all of ten years.

In this day and age there are urban legends or conspiracy theories which say the group is alive and well governed by great industrial magnates who have a plan to dominate the world and all her events.

They want a one-government rule and those in power will be the uber-elite 1% of the total world population, i think they also propagating some secret society about UFO's etc.

Indeed, between not existing for 200 years and being the total opposite of what they really were, the NWO Illuminati is 1 of the most ridiculous conspiracy theories I've come across.

The Illuminati and all of their affiliate groups have controlled every form of media any of us has ever seen or heard, they own the rights to print money out of thin air through the Federal Reserve, and have been programming billions of people into thinking and buying whatever they want through television. Now they are taking over the food industry, so watch out, especially for all of the "processed" food out there. Good can come from this knowledge however, thanks to these realizations and many more, I have adopted a vegetarian lifestyle and lost over 80 lbs. in a year. Turning off the news channels more often helps vastly as well.

Of course. But they view us all as cattle and you probably wouldn't like the way they paid you. They would much prefer that we didn't believe any of it, and allow us to keep striving instead of thriving.
