I am just wondering what brought the craft down. While the US Command has released info on the craft being in Iranian hands; I wonder if it was really "shot down" as the Iranians claim?

On the matter of a "self destruct" mechanism, we really don't know what condition the craft is in. If it fell out of the sky, from any altitude, it would be pretty broken-up. Stealth aircraft are not known for their glide characteristics.

Usually when a country makes a claim, they have an exhibit for the media with pieces of the aircraft. I haven't seen that yet.

This is yet another unforgiveable obama administration blunder. One can just imagine military officers trying to explain the risks of putting one of those over iran, with obama tuning him out. The iranians said they used electronic jamming to screw up the control of the aircraft. At the least, the plane should have been programmed to return to its air strip if it loses contact with its controllers.

I am afraid we may not be all that smart anymore. We tend to "over think" things at times. But I would be in favor of having little secrets in all our weapons systems. Just in case they fell into the wrong hands.

I fail to see how President Obama is responsible for Iranian air defenses doing their job. Blame Director Petraeus for ordering an op in Iran and the Iranian commander of the relevant air defense unit for bringing it down if your going to blame anyone.

Why is it that Obama gets credit for good things but no blame for bad things.

You think Obama had any thing to do with getting Bin Laden, other that saying "Do it", as if he had any choice? It was a no brainer. He could NOT have said not to do it.
