It is now in doubt whether Iran could develop an ICBM that could reach the United States by 2015.

Though the sanctions and economic pressure have surely lessened the Iranian ability to create a viable ICBM...I cannot imagine anyone in the position they have created for themselves being willing to face the obvious risks the world would lay ay it's doorstep.

Then again...the religious leadership is inherently irrational.

I seriously doubt they would, Iran has many enemies in this world. If they launched any such weapon they would be in the cross hairs of many nations.

Then again I don't think Iran us that stupid. They are playing gotcha games, I think in order to disrupt the world to make the USA and Israel appear as the global enemy. Allowing other non combative nations to formulate fear.

It is a very smart play, if they get us believing that there are nukes over there another ten years of war depleting our resources. Its very much the same as a smaller boxer tiring out a larger stronger boxer.

I can't see any reason a nation would be so bent on suicide.

Does Iran now suddenly care what anyone else Thinks i donot think so, and they fired their icbm into space today, obviously this kinda Thinking stinks Hopefully we get a Republican congress at mid Terms or our goose is Cooked

True but it's got the range to wipe out the Pacific Fleet. A nuke to PH, SD and Guam and we'd have serious issues. They also have the ability to make 20+ nukes so they could fire several to ensure they hit their targets and still have an arsenal to discourage retaliation (before you say anything, we're not dealing with people who understand MAD). We're fine until they can miniaturize the nukes into warhead that can be loaded onto the missiles but this is still something to be worried about.

Sometimes I wish we'd remind NK that we, already being at war, don't need approval to blast them into a soldering crater. Alas they hold Seoul hostage.

1 st how did this get in my Controll Panel not my post second i doubt the millions of Hindis slaughtered mamed and Persecuted or Isrealis would agree that they dont have Many enemies

Iran is only focusing on improving its retaliatory capabilities in case it is attacked by Israel and it may not need any ICBMs to reach Europe and America and ICBMs are exclusively possessed by major military powers and currently only seven nations are known to have ICBM technology as India has become the 7th nation with ICBMs in 2012 and the original report by the CRS which claimed that Iran could achieve an ICBM capability by 2015 was grossly inaccurate.
