It Has Begun!

Well...it looks like CO2 is not a big deal anymore. The really bad stuff is now in play so we can quit worrying about what WE do in comparison.

"Local Siberian media has reported that the very ground*that people stand on is*moving under*their feet in the*arctic regions of Siberia. Scientists*have discovered 7000 gas filled bubbles according to the Siberian Times.* These, bulges or 'bulgunyakh' in the local Yakut language, were originally discovered last year by*researchers in Siberia's remote Bely Island. At that time only 15 of these bubbles had been identified, but*a survey in the wider region of the Yamal and Gydan peninsulas has revealed the massive number of 7000*which some scientists fear may explode at any time."
Thousands of underground gas bulges, formed by thawing permafrost, set to 'explode' in Siberia

*Say goodnight Gracie.

I have been saying it is no big deal all along!:cool::cool:

As you have made it VERY clear your understanding of anything involving science is extremely limited if not non-existent.....what you have been saying is irrelevant.

It is also clear attempting to explain it to you has no effect so please just run along and don't bother those of us who do understand.

I do indeed fully understand the triviality of the situation. You apparently don't.

Nope...I do not see the possible release of HUGE amounts of a known greenhouse gas into the atmosphere as trivial....I'm weird that way.

What do you base HUGE on? The scientist thought the burning of oil wells in Iraq during the Gulf War would provide a HUGE amount of particulate matter in the atmosphere, plunging the Earth into a "nuclear winter", amounting to decades of the Earth being in a mini Ice Age, by blockage of significant solar radiation reaching Earth. They were totally wrong.
I base my assumption on the size and content of the land in question, on the established realities of permafrost, on the proven reactions of methane in our atmosphere....etc...

Iraqi oil wells are a silly comparison, might as well say fire is not hot because a match does not boil a gallon of water.

Like I said many times, CO2 causing heating of the Earth's atmosphere, will cause greater evaporation, which will cause greater cloud cover, while will in turn cause cooling of the Earth.

TRUST ME! :D

Your understanding of atmosphere, climate, hydro dynamics, thermal regulation...........hell EVERYTHING is so sadly inadequate that you come off as a foolish child idiot lecturing in a university.

The future remains to BE SEEN. I have a feeling that I will be correct then. Since neither of us has a crystal ball, we each have pretty much equal chance at being correct. Taking a "wait and see approach" is the most prudent thing we can do, rather than accuse each other of being wrong, OK? Thanks! :)

Okay...try it this way.

Does a man who knows how to swim have "Pretty Much Equal" chance of surviving a ship wreck as a man with broken arms who never learned to swim?

The absurdity of bizarroo statistics !

I say if you jump off a cliff, you will fall to your death.

You say that you will float in the air.

We each have an equal chance of being right !! ---

You'd better Google Bayesian statistics !

Trust someone who doesn't even know that water vapor is an important greenhouse gas --- right along with CO2 and methane !

I'll take vanilla.

Yes, I was aware of this danger already in the late '60's.

With the melting of the permafrost, the release of vast amounts of CO2 and methane will be an unstoppable, run-away, self-reinforcing catastrophe.

The rapid environmental collapses which will result will be fatal to what is so
falsely called "civilization."

And it all results from the phony brainwashing created by the sub-human ghouls of Big Money --- may cancer rot their bones !

Incorrect. Purely a MODERATE. Nothing ever comes of being extreme. :D

Apparently being moderate today does make you Liberal to Republicans. Thus did I finally grow so tired of being called a Libtard RINO that I simply left the association and party to register Independent. Now they call me a traitor for leaving as they seemed to want me to do.

In order for a greenhouse to be effective, it needs to be close to 100% sealed. A screen would not due; it has to be glass or plastic, something that seals the heat in.

So the wackadoodles alarmed at CO2 in the atmosphere at 400 ppm, means it is literally 0.04% sealed, if CO2 indeed "seals" the atmosphere, not allowing heat out, therefore causing global warming. So it has a long way to go to be sealed! :smug:

It is often very hard to believe that ANYONE could be so incredibly ignorant yet is seems this is required to converse with you.

See, we gots this thingy called an atmosphere an even though it's bigly huge it acts kinda like a greenhouse plastic cover over the planet. Best ta think on it like a big tarp over the lands. Its so big in fact that parts of it can be cold an other parts hot.
Now if'n days a bit of Raid sprayed on one side ya might not even smell it, but if its sprayed next to ys it cin hurt ya. If'n enough is prayed inta the air it kin even make you sick enuf ta puke.

My past comments about WATER affecting Earth temps. confirmed.

"However, the most potent greenhouse gas is water, explains Shaidurov and it is this compound on which his study focuses. According to Shaidurov, only small changes in the atmospheric levels of water, in the form of vapour and ice crystals can contribute to significant changes to the temperature of the earth's surface, which far outweighs the effects of carbon dioxide and other gases released by human activities. Just a rise of 1% of water vapour could raise the global average temperature of Earth's surface more then 4 degrees Celsius."

As it is painfully obvious you do not wish to or are incapable of discussing this topic in any useful or competent way....I bid you good day:rolleyes::rolleyes:

The atmosphere is not sealed, but your mind clearly is hermetically sealed against facts and information. It shows the effectiveness of modern brainwashing that you can be so ignorant when there is so much scientific, factual information available.

CO2 absorbs long-wave radiation from the surface of the Earth and then reradiates it in all directions, some into outer space and some back to the Earth and lower levels of the atmosphere ---that is enough to warm the earth, seas and lower atmosphere.

It is no more difficult to understand than noticing that you will have a warmer night when there is cloud cover than when the sky is clear. ---

The atmosphere is sealed as far as elements and compounds going in & out (except for meteors and the like).

Yeah, and on cloudy days, it is COLD until the clouds clear and it warms up.

The DEW POINT is the biggest factor how cold it gets at night.

Your ignorance is dizzying. I would offer up the corrections but there is no point bothering.
