Hey guys.

I was just reading this newspaper and I saw an advertisement suggesting investment in UK real estate (in particular London). I haven't been to London before, but I heard its the center of the world. Any thoughts?

What do you mean by center of the world? Sure it is a large city where many ideas are exchanged and a lot of commerce is done, but I wouldn't call it the center of the world. Even in terms of commerce and such, New York City trumps London.

As for real estate in London, I am not exactly sure of the current market situation in England as I haven't been following that particular market, so I can't really help you there.

London is a warning to the world what happens when you run a country with a service economy (70%).

One thing I learned is that as soon as you see an advertisement like that, to do and to believe the exact opposite. For example, if everyone is running away from stocks and shares, that is the time to buy stocks and shares, and if people start to advertise real estate, to stay away from real estate. If you have not been to London before, perhaps more so that you should stay away from the market. No doubt real estate agents may want to take a disadvantage of your lack of knowledge.
