Tecoyah, there’s been no vote in congress for a proposed $15 per hour federal minimum wage rate to be soon enacted. The rate has, as it always should be gradually modified. Respectfully, SupposnDo you believe it would help or Hurt? Many believe it will have no real effect as it wont change welfare rates, other think it would grow the middle class....what say you?
H.R. 582, “Raise the wage act” is a good bill, but opponents of the bill will refrain from mentioning the minimum hourly rate will not attain $15 until 7th year after the bill's passage. Its method for retaining the minimum rate's purchasing power is to monitor and annually (when necessary), adjusted to be changed in the same proportion as the proportional change of USA's average wage rate.
In the likely case that it's not passed through and added to our federal statutes, I urge U.S. Congressional members to continue striving and pass a bill that would increase the minimum wage rate by 12.5% of its purchasing power until it attains 125% of its February-1968 purchasing power. Thereafter the rate should be monitored and annually adjusted to retain that purchasing power or to retain its proportional relationship to USA's average wage rate. …

Sallyally, I’m paying over $4 a Gal in NJ 7/11’s, as compared to $2.20 35 per 2 liters = $4.40 per 1.05 Gallons in an Australian 7/11. (At NJ supermarkets it’s about $3.90/Gal).Milk is $5 for 4 litres from 7/11 or 2 litres of milk and a sliced sandwich loaf for $5.
$2.20 for two litres from Woolworths.
the rye bread I buy from the Vietnamese baker is $3, and a white sandwich loaf from Woolworths is $1.60.
