You don't need ANY more money. Just let the people who are already working there (teachers, administrators, maintainance, etc) carry a gun, and have them all be trained and vetted (they should already be background checked thoroughly if they're working in a school).

As for the other places, Yes, there should be armed guards there too. And everywhere, if possible. And CCTV security as well.

I used to do security, I wad armed, crime still occurred mainly because I wasn't 24/7, very expensive, and I want able to be everywhere. I was mildly trained. More well trained people cost more money. For what a problem that will likely never occur?

I don't agree with forcibly arming teachers, but allowing them to carry guns to school I am not against.

I do think that there should be an increased police presence at public institutions but increasing the number of guns constantly in or around schools will not help prevent gun violence.

That is the most sense I have heard in this debate...good on you.

Why do we have to go to such Orwellian measures because of one tragic incident? Rahm Emmanuel was right when he said you take advantage of a tragic situation (I'm paraphrasing). It's asinine to think schools need armed policemen and turn the institutions into prison camps. Why not just have one gun in the school and get rid of these silly no-gun zones where the killers focus their attention on?

Schools already have armed cops, it's just usually it's a single cop and they don't actually expect anything bigger then busting someone for smoking.

The idea of armed guards at school to protect against a statistically unlikely event is a waste to me. I am for protection of rights, a teacher is being discriminated against because of their profession, just public schools. It isn't right. People think they have business in the teacher exercising their right, I don't know why.
