Yesterday night Obama gave his first official address to Congress (not quite a state of the union), what do you guys think?
I thought it was a typical speech from him, well delivered as usual. While it wasn't as partisan as most of Bush's speeches, it had some contradictions and of course, more spending. I don't quite understand why he said he "wasn't for bigger government" yet advocated many programs such as health care to be addressed.
On the flip side, the GOP reaction was a flop. I like Bobby Jindal but his first speech was just aweful. The substance was good but the delivery failed. It was obviously over-rehearsed and just sounded plain cheesy. However, given the fact that it was his first national address, I think we should give him another chance.
