Even though it's been proven that the video was not the cause of the attack & the admin kept on claiming that it was the video, is not a lie?
Well, alrighty then. Like I've said, I'm a simple person, but I'm not simple minded, if it walks & quacks like a duck, it ain't a horse.

That is a part of my point, it has not been "Proven" that the region wide reaction to the video was not in play here. In my opinion it is highly likely is was, even if as an excuse for action. Perhaps it has been established on Fox News, but not within the fact based world we live in.
To dismiss one aspect of the situation (especially one so obvious), would have been a mistake, to blame everything on it was probably a mistake as well. A mistake is not a "Lie"...unless you are looking for one. Being a simple person does not allow someone to disregard reality.

There is another term for that.

(though I do not see why they would do so)

This is the most important question they should be trying to answer. So far, the only conclusion we can come to is that the GOP is trying to discredit Obama, and generally, Republicans are a short-sighted herd of sheep. (again, mo only).

Edited Note: A "herd" of sheep? yikes!....my bad, "flock"....sorry.

What was said by Obama & others in the admin about the attack.
http://www.cnn.com/2012/10/10/world/libya-attack-statements/index.html

The election is over, Obama won. Did the GOP start salivating over the Benghazi attack & think they might have something on Obama, I'm sure there was some of that. But like I said, the election is over, I don't think this is about Obama now. Even Diane Feinstein is perplexed....& Petreus apparently perjured himslef. Why would he do that?

"
September 12 -- President Barack Obama:
"The United States condemns in the strongest terms this outrageous and shocking attack. ... No acts of terror will ever shake the resolve of this great nation."

Obama condemns the attack as terrorism

"

September 12 -- Secretary of State Hillary Clinton:
"We are working to determine the precise motivations and methods of those who carried out this assault. Some have sought to justify this vicious behavior, along with the protest that took place at our embassy in Cairo yesterday, as a response to inflammatory material posted on the Internet. America's commitment to religious tolerance goes back to the very beginning of our nation. But let me be clear: There is no justification for this; none."

Clinton says some people blame the video, and explains an inverstigation is taking place.

"
September 12 -- White House spokesman Jay Carney, in response to questions about whether the attack was planned:
"It's too early for us to make that judgment. I think -- I know that this is being investigated, and we're working with the Libyan government to investigate the incident. So I would not want to speculate on that at this time."

Carney makes it clear they are not rushing to judgement until the investigation has run it's course.

"

September 12 -- Obama, at a campaign event in Las Vegas, again uses the "act of terror" line:
"No act of terror will dim the light of the values that we proudly shine on the rest of the world, and no act of violence will shake the resolve of the United States of America."
He repeats the line again the next day in Golden, Colorado. "I want people around the world to hear me: To all those who would do us harm, no act of terror will go unpunished."

Obama again refers to an act of terror.

"

September 13 -- Jay Carney:
"The protests we're seeing around the region are in reaction to this movie. They are not directly in reaction to any policy of the United States or the government of the United States or the people of the United States."

Carney talks about the protest surrounding the video.

"

September 13 -- A senior U.S. official tells CNN that the Benghazi violence was a "clearly planned attack":
"It was not an innocent mob," the official said. "The video or 9/11 made a handy excuse and could be fortuitous from their perspective, but this was a clearly planned military-type attack."

An official calls it a planned attack.

"

September 13 -- State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland:
"Well, as we said yesterday when we were on background, we are very cautious about drawing any conclusions with regard to who the perpetrators were, what their motivations were, whether it was premeditated, whether they had any external contacts, whether there was any link, until we have a chance to investigate along with the Libyans. So I know that's going to be frustrating for you, but we really want to make sure that we do this right and we don't jump to conclusions. That said, obviously, there are plenty of people around the region citing this disgusting video as something that has been motivating."

Nuland reiterates the need for caution before the investigation runs it's course.

So, there are the first two days.....please point out a lie.

I see...so it's no longer about Obama, yet you accuse his administration of Lying with no actual proof?

If I gave that impression, I'm sorry, Obama lied too!
There's proof in every dark & dusty corner, & it's quite plain to those that will see.
This thing will blow up, not that I believe that Obamas "job" is in jeopardy, it would take more than lying &/or "high crimes & misdemeanors" to get this US Senate to find him guilty of anything even if The House were to ever bring impeachment charges against him.

Petreus has agreed to testify this Friday voluntairly....according to reports when he told the admin lie about "it was the video" he said to a member of congress privately, "do you want the truth or do you want the official answer?" We shall see.
As far as Obama & this admin lying about Benghazi, again, all one has to do is keep up.

This is what an "informed" opinion looks like. I would love to see more of this type of response. Nice post Tecoyah.

I think that only the most naive persons would be surprised by this affair. What is amazing, however, is how someone as intelligent, and savvy, as General Petraeus, under the "fishbowl" scrutiny of the nation’s capitol - where everything about anyone of importance is instantly known - thought he could get away with it. It is astounding! But then there was President Clinton’s "blowjob" - not to mention many others.

If the "great and the good" can learn anything from this, it is to leave their private affairs while serving in public office.

One should be careful with information for not all reports are true. The truth, while generally seen, is seldom heard. In this, sources are important, and the more the better. But with every source, one must pay particular attention to the intent of the speaker, and be wary of those who advocate interests not their own.
