As for how science works: A theory is a theory until its proven to be fact. All you have is a theory, so quit talking as if its fact.

What part of 1) Atmospheric CO2 levels are rising 2) CO2 is a greenhouse gas (meaning it traps heat) do you think is not proven?

Also a scientific theory is a lot different than the colloquial use of the term. Many scientific theories have a lot of empirical evidence behind them- a very notable (and one you will most probably agree with) example being gravity. Global warming isn't a theory either way.
