To my understanding, Susan Rice was given instruction to be the face that told a questioning Media (and population), what transpired in the consulate attack. She was given information to convey, and did as required by higher ups, which was her job. The CIA has now made it clear that any misinformation in her talking points was created by the intelligence community, yet certain politicians continue to blame her for the fiasco. Logically, this makes no sense to me.

So, as question.

Are we watching a partisan witch hunt in real time?

The short answer is "of course". But I think what we're really watching in real time is the end of "old school politics". It used to be that the majority of voters knew only what they "heard", from their local friends and neighbors, and from the news. The Internet has substantially changed that paradigm, and created a "more informed" public.

I think the Democratic party picked up on that first, and leveraged it effectively.

The GOP will catch up (or become a 3rd party). The question is, when they do catch up, will they support an agenda that embraces "fact", or will they continue to deny them?

Absolutely...and I grow weary of McCain trying to fan the flames surrounding Rice. This is a man who chose Palin as his running mate believing she was well qualified to be VP. And yet Rice...a Rhodes Scholar, current United States Ambassador to the UN, is not qualified to be SoS?!?!?.... This reeks of political obstruction.

We must also remember McCains support of another woman named Rice...and mushroom clouds.

Does it make any sense to complain about your heating bills, when the thermostat is set at 90 degrees?

GOP Cut Embassy Security Funding

For fiscal 2013, the GOP-controlled House proposed spending $1.934 billion for the State Department's worldwide security protection program -- well below the $2.15  billion requested by the Obama administration. House Republicans cut the administration's request for embassy security funding by $128 million in fiscal 2011 and $331 million in fiscal 2012. (Negotiations with the Democrat-controlled Senate restored about $88 million of the administration's request.) Last year, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton warned that Republicans' proposed cuts to her department would be "detrimental to America's national security" -- a charge Republicans rejected."

You might have Susan Rice's position confused with that of a spokesman. That's understandable, given that her competence in this matter reflects that of a mere spokesman. She's a US Ambassador and a hopeful for Secretary of State.

Hey, Tecoyah the village hypocrite, where are you when the liberal media is on its witch hunts against "conservative" targets?

Thanks for the insult...your mature nature is laid out before us all, as expected.

T
he U.N. ambassador has always been the fallback spokesman for the S.O.S when they are a bit busy...which I would think she was. In this case she was given a script to follow, which she must do to follow the guidelines of her job description. For this she is attacked on Character, ability, and competence....after a many years of developing a great respect in the community of professionals she must deal with, including world leader, intelligence personnel, and Government circles.
Basically, she did her job, and is getting reamed for doing it....seemingly because a few bitter men decided to be bastards.

We were lied to...but she didn't do it.
