Romney looks to focus on economy, not healthcare

Well, since the economy is issue number one of this election, it's a good idea to focus on it. You don't want people to view you as out of touch with the need of the american people.

I think that is the right thing to do. He needs to get elected before he can do anything. Sad to say more people know how bad the economy is than know how bad the ACA ruling is.
The problem that I see with this strategy is that Obama will turn it around. He is going to claim, as was done when trying to get it passed, that the ACA is not only about healthcare, but also about jumpstarting the economy. He will make it a part of every debate over the economy, and if Mitt is not prepared to discuss the ACA then Obama will convince many lemming voters that his economic record isn't so bad - it's just a result of the Republicans holding up the ACA.
