I hate for anyone to have cancer having had it myself. Since I am always saying people should show more respect that will be my only comment on Ted Kennedy.

His political position is irrelevant to me. But he's a human being that died of cancer. Several people in my family have died of cancer, so i have an idea of the pain his family are feeling.

Cancer killed 3 of my four grandparents. And really should have killed me. My mother had it when I was 7 years old. I spent 2 weeks a month for 8 months on a floor of nothing but cancer patients. Strange how cancer is one thing in this world that is fair. Rich or poor black or white. The difference is how you are treated medically and socially. When I had it I was "forced" to resign to keep my medical coverage.

I can imagine it must be a great nostalgic moment for people of the United States. Almost as though the era of the famous Kennedy brothers came to an end with his passing. Also, in the end, his contribution to politics must have eclipsed that of his brothers, who in the beginning had looked much more talented than he was. In fact, in the beginning Ted Kennedy almost looked like the black sheep of the family, and I don't blame him, as his older three brothers almost had the look of saints. Jack died, John and Robert got assassinated, and then all of a sudden the burden was on Ted, to make his contribution, and he survived almost to the end. Just shows that consistent effort over a long period of time can eclipse even the most gifted talent that can only be around for a few moments. Of the three brothers, my favourite was Robert Kennedy and I am really so sorry that he never got the chance to show us what he had in him for President.
