Earlier I wrote, "Really? Being for low taxes is misleading? Awesome. And dishonest as well. You are a leftist then correct?" to which you replied,
No, being for lower taxes is not dishonest
Good. We have one point of agreement. Being the party that stands for lower effective tax rates for everyone is not dishonest.
Are you taking it all back when you followed that with this?
but for the GOP to have been in control of the House for as many years total as they have over the last 20 years to blame the Dems for lack of spending cuts is exceptionally dishonest.
Well, there you go again. Of course you took it all back.
Who has controlled the House?
FDR/legacy 1933-1953
Democrats: 9 terms (18 years)
Republicans: 1 term (2 years)
Eisenhower-Kennedy-Johnson-Nixon (1953-1973)
Democrats: 9 terms (18 years)
Republicans: 1 term (2 years)
Ford-Carter-Reagan-Bush (1973-1993)
Democrats: 10 terms (20 years)
Republicans: 0 terms (0 years)
Clinton-Bush-Obama (1993-2012)
Democrats: 3 terms (6 years)
Republicans: 7 terms (14 years)
So from 1933 to 2012
Democrats: 31 terms (62 years)
Republicans: 9 terms (18 years)
The legislation that has proved to be so damaging to the United States goes back to FDR. Over the last 80 years the Democrats have controlled the House of Representatives for 62 of those years. Republicans controlled the House in 18 of those years.
The massive growth of the federal government began under FDR.
But you do have a point (even though you did not make it) and that point is that Republicans spent like lightweight Democrats during a portion of those 18 years.
Now is the time to hold the line. And that is not dishonest.
What's your definition of leftist?
That is a reasonable question. Leftists are those people who tip the balance scales in favor of the growth of the state over the freedom and liberty of the individual.
