The Red Line.

Back when Obama created his "Red Line" that Assad could not cross. he crossed it. Obama then asked for congressional authority to destroy him and was denied after allies also denied their own militaries from acting. Yet now Assad crossing lines again is all Obamas fault according to the President.
Memories seem to be very short in this and excuses being made for Donald Trump not even trying. This is pathetic and shows how far our foreign policy has fallen. I am embarrassed.

if you draw a red line and don't back it, it means your word is sh!t.

countries and leaders pay close attention to that.

so yeah, Obama spoke the red line then didn't back it.
that means its his fault. without a doubt.

The "dog ate my homework" excuses do not work as leader of the free world.

So you believe asking Congress for approval was a mistake?

I believe he should not have thrown down a red-line if he couldn't back it up. period.

That said his possibilities could include:

- don't openly put down a red-line (as Trump has said, don't advertise to your enemy what you may or may not do)

- get the approval of congress (providing you haven't screwed them over playing the executive order-dictator already ....oops)

- do some tangible and significant action that doesn't require boots on the ground, etc. like tactical drone strikes, etc.)
