I am not sure anything can be done about it. But perhaps the police presence will neutralize violence before it occurs.

I wouldn't in a large crowd. That is the type of event I carry a stun gun to. Noflying projectiles no chance of over penetration and no loud fire to start a stampede. One shot could get several people killed even if a bullet doesn't.

The plus to the stun gun is that it's not lethal. So Mr I have had one to many doesn't spend a week in the hospital or eternity in the ground. He just sobers up before he blinks his eyes sleeps like a baby and lives to tell his buddies.

When working an event I HATE carrying my gun. It's more like a liability than a defensive weapon. But I have to.
