Trumpian reality

1. Jack Holmes is Associate Editor for News & Politics at Esquire.com, where he writes daily and edits the Politics Blog with Charles P. Pierce. He also does a dash of sports and some feature writing. His work has appeared in New York magazine and The Daily Beast.

The following are excerpts from Jack Holmes' September 5, 2018 article headlined "Bob Woodward's Reporting Shows Trump's Very Good Brain Is Trapped in the 1980s" with the subheading "Most of Donald Trump's 'knowledge' is just fragments of reality that have been fermenting, completely unexamined".

(Begin excerpts)
....what constitutes Donald Trump's knowledge is mostly just fragments of reality he internalized around 1982. They have been fermenting there ever since, continually filtering through his kaleidoscopic reasoning faculties as he dispenses crank observations at cocktail parties, never to be altered or removed because the governing forces of his psyche are almighty stubbornness and delusional ego. The president's views on trade are his views because they've been his views for 30 years. They're right because they're his views and always have been. For Christ's sake, this is trade. No wonder he's said climate change is a Chinese hoax.

This is what happens when you elect a man as president who is completely incurious about the world, who lacks sophisticated critical reasoning skills on issues beyond an ability to avoid consequences for his own behavior, and whose conception of America is so tainted by poisonous nostalgia and his ego-driven need to occupy a certain place in it that he struggles to perceive reality as it is.

He also just doesn't believe in reality. He's also incredibly lazy....

Jesus Christ almighty, the man thought that once you get elected the job basically involves watching TV coverage about how great you are. Plenty of time for golf, too. And there's even golf on the teevee!... (End excerpts)

2. There is no lack of writers opining that Trump is living in his own reality. His ideas, attitudes, or ways of behaving have been fossilized. In other words, they are fixed and unlikely to change, in spite of changing situations or circumstances.

As observed by Jack Holmes, "the governing forces of his psyche are almighty stubbornness and delusional ego. The president's views on trade are his views because they've been his views for 30 years. They're right because they're his views and always have been."

In view of this, I coin the term Trumpian reality for Trump's delusional reality or magical fantasy world.

Muscle memory has been used synonymously with motor learning, which is a form of procedural memory that involves consolidating a specific motor task into memory through repetition. When a movement is repeated over time, a long-term muscle memory is created for that task, eventually allowing it to be performed without conscious effort. This process decreases the need for attention and creates maximum efficiency within the motor and memory systems. Examples of muscle memory are found in many everyday activities that become automatic and improve with practice, such as riding a bicycle, typing on a keyboard, entering a PIN, playing a musical instrument,[1] poker,[2] martial arts or even dancing.

Seems like reedak would be better off sticking to his silly, non-sensicle fantasy stories, rather that the trump ones. The original stories were way more plausible! :D

This crazy woman of yours seems to celebrate the burning glory of California's Camp Fire. :cool:

Now for a little change, see whether you like this little poem of mine:

Poem: Lost Paradise

California, California, burning bright,
As Nature flexes its scorching might;
What fossilized brain or mind,
Has gotten you in such a bind?

However hard the residents in their vehicles prayed all the way,
No angels responded to their prayers to keep the fire at bay;
Neither did Moses turn up to part the sea of fire,
While new Nero’s busy tweeting drew their ire.

The Reaper was not moved by their cry and yell,
As he led the dying residents into fiery Hell.
Everything in Paradise was reduced to zero,
As the doomed town turned into a raging inferno.

Whose denials of responsibility sparked the Camp Fire
Which turned Paradise into a gigantic pyre?
Gone was the lost Paradise
As it met its untimely demise.

Ha! Ha! Ha! You are absolutely blind to the magic of literature.

Continue dipping your head into wet water – wet, from the standpoint of water -- at least you are safe from the wildfire. :)
