Yes, she was governor then up and quit. The deputy governor didn't even know until he was informed 5 minuets before the speech.


Palin had a very good reason for leaving office. The number of "ethics" complaints had skyrocketed since the Presidential election. She was targeted, some of the ethics complaints were filed under pseudonyms or proxies but originated from Democrats outside of Alaska, most notably from Linda Kellen Biegel, the official Democratic Party blogger for the Obama convention.

Its free to file a complaint, the state investigates each one, and the governor has to defend himself/herself. She made a good common sense decision, it was a risk for her but good for the state.

Palin seems to have the ability of attracking so much negativity and controversy around her. Can't be good for a President-elect.
