What do you think of the Governator?

Apparently he isn't going to run for the Senate, which kind of disappoints me. He's a very practical person, and the Democrats could use that. He would, of course, have to run as an independent or a Democrat, since he formed his own opinions and didn't follow the Republican party line.

I did read that he plans to endorse whoever is nominated by the Democrats for governor.

He was never a "Republican". I will be glad to see him join Sen. Arlen Specter as a "sellout". :D

" He's a very practical person, and the Democrats could use that." I agree, I hope they find one.:D

Arlen Specter is a sellout, (this coming from a liberal), but this is really the Republican Party's fault. Typically, in local or state elections, only the hardcore conservatives or liberals vote. A liberal will vote for a more moderate democrat in the primaries if he can win the general, but a conservative will not vote for a moderate republican. Specter was going to lose in the republican primaries to a more conservative opponent and he knew it. Although he should have stuck to his guns and went down fighting instead of switch party lines, it was still brought on by conservatives not surrendering a battle to win the war.

The Republican Party is driving away anyone who isn't part of the the very conservative liberal right. Why stay in a party if your positions align more closely with the other party? And why stay in a party if your positions are consistent with those of your constiuency, and no longer cosistent with your party?

I presume you hold the same opinion of Joe Lieberman? And Ronald Reagan? He started out as a Democrat, back when he was president of the Screen Actors Guild, and switched parties later.

I like Joe okay. I have never voted for him. The democrats pushed him away and he came back and beat their guy. I liked that.:D As for Reagan, He was elected as a Republican president. That is what I voted for. He did not change sides in mid term. Ol Arlen Specter knew he stabbed the people who elected him in the back. And he knew they would make his old lying butt pay for it. If another Republican never wins another election we are better off with Specter gone.:)

During the election campaigns it became evident that the Republican Party will need to completely rethink where it is going to before the next election, and that it may mean that it will be re-engineering itself. Everything that looks wrong right at the moment I think reflects a great need for finding a new mission and direction for the Republican Party.

The Republicans may not be in such bad shape after a few years of this crowd being in power.:D I love that Nancy wants to drag up the past.

Who knows, by that time people will be so disgruntled with the current President and the Democratic Government, the Republicans will be voted in by a large majority :)
