"Vice President Mike Pence spoke out on Sunday about why he left a football game between the Indianapolis Colts-San Francisco 49ers game, the same day it emerged that former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick has said he'd stand for the national anthem if he can play in the NFL once more."

Pence left because he had to raise money for Russia. It was a prior engagement that conflicted with the game. He knew they'd kneel as it's become a protest against the administration thus making his presence a trigger. Had they not keeled he'd have been screwed because he'd still have to leave (to help Russia) and wouldn't have his scripted excuse.

It was a calculated photo op that didn't backfire.
