What Should be Verdict in Jody Arias case ?

Should Jody Arias be aquitted ? Or found guilty ? Has the prosecution done its job to PROVE beyond a reasonable doubt that Jody Arias committed first degree murder ? Or, like in the OJ Simpson and Casey Anthony trials, there just wasn't the PROOF present to convict ?

Maybe Jody could be found NOT GUILTY (that's not the same as "Innocent"), based on the prosecution's inability to positively disprove her self-defense claim.

And despite her 3 versions of the killing, it could be that she awkwardly thought that the true version might not look true, and so tried to cover it with another story. Frankly, having never killed anyone myself, I really couldn't exactly know how someone would feel at that time.

It's also true that Jody Arias has had mental problems, and who knows what somebody like that might think, especially in a very stressful situation ?

One thing is for sure. Despite being young and rather attractive, if she does get off, I don't know too many guys who would want to accomodate her apparent large sexual appetite. Anyone dating her could possibly consider bringing a bodyguard along, and/or tell her the whole thing is being recorded. Whew !!!

It's possible that Jodi Arias was just defending herself when she killed her abusive boyfriend. They got into a fight when she suggested he get professional help following revelations he was "interested" in minor girls and Alexander often forced her to dress up and act like a young girl. Alexander, who was a son of methamphetamine addicts, got physically abusive on many occasions according to the transcripts of her courtroom testimony and Arias killed Alexander while she was defending herself against him after she dropped his new camera and she could claim self-defence and she does not deserve the death penalty at all.

Question now isn't does she deserve the death penalty. The question now is >> is she guilty AT ALL ? DodgeFB wants to give her the death penalty, but doesn't present a shred of PROOF to show she didn't act in self-defense (in which case, she would not meet the criminal INTENT requirement for conviction).

If anyone has any PROOF of criminal intent on the part of Jody Arias, let's hear it. But please hurry. I think the verdict is tomorrow.

Not quite PROOF....but between the Gun used likely belonging to her Grandfather and supposedly stolen in a burglary, the slit throat and multiple stab wounds, the continuous string of lies she has attempted, and the dubious abuse claims.....she will be found guilty and charged with murder.

I doubt it will be murder 1, but who knows.

Are any of us related to the defendant/victim? Are any of use associated with the case? Will any of us actually have our lives impacted by the outcome of this case? I suspect the answer to all of these questions is no for most or all of us so why the **** are any of you even caring?! This case is even more irrelevant then American Idol or Justin Bieber... You're all acting like gossiping women right now, it's disgusting and undignified.

This type of interaction is often referred to as debate...

If she's found guilty on THOSE pieces of "evidence", it will be an improper verdict (whether she really is guilty or not). It would also endanger future defendants who really are innocent, by precedents being set to convict without solid proof.

You couldn't be more wrong. It an EXTREMELY IMPORTANT case. Due to the basic principle that WE are innocent until WE are PROVEN guilty (by prosecutors in court) When juries start convicting people because it "looks like she did it", or "she changed her story twice", or "I know in my gut", that's when, over time, innocent people are going to be getting convicted of murder or other things, and even executed.

As much as many people hate it, the acquittals in the OJ Simpson and Casey Anthony cases were correct anf proper. The prosecution simply didn't have the evidence to PROVE their charges.

Again, are you on the jury? No? Then you're irrelevant to the case.

I'm listening. Make your case. :balanced:
I don't need to make a case. It is not my job. Those whose job it is have already made the case. Those with the job of getting her off guilty or not have made theirs. They can only hope there is just one without the courage to put her down. They all said they would and could. Now we shall see.

If the victim was someone I cared about I would want her back on the street.;)

PHOENIX - In an exclusive interview with FOX 10's Troy Hayden, minutes after the verdict was read, Jodi Arias opened up about the jury's decision and what comes next.

"I think I just went blank... I just feel overwhelmed. I think I just need to take it a day at a time. It was unexpected for me. There was no premeditation on my part. "I said years ago I'd rather get death than life and that still is true today. I believe death is the ultimate freedom, so I'd rather just have my freedom as soon as I can get it."

Jodi Arias was found guilty of first-degree murder and the jury will decide whether she gets the death penalty or a life sentence. In the FOX interview minutes after the verdict, she said death was preferable but historically, the US criminal justice system rarely gets tough on female convicts and she's unlikely to face the death penalty and only 61 women are currently on death row.
