Why does God create people that are going to hell?

I think after reading these posts, many are confused about what Christianity is. Can't blame them really, there are far too many false religious leaders these days. Most of them are using religion for their own ends, and twisting the meaning of Christianity in the process. First let me explain the basics. You can't justify yourself by doing good works, unless you do all good works. Likewise with God's law, you can't justify yourself by the law unless you justify yourself by the whole law. No one can. All fall short of the glory of God. That is why Jesus came. To take that burden onto himself in order that we may justify ourselves through faith. It is good to obey the law and do good works, but only through faith can we be justified. By faith our sins are forgiven. This is what the New Testament is all about. It's the New Covenant. God created us in his image. We have been corrupted, through our own choices, by a world that has been corrupted. You still have time to choose, regardless of your sins, because they are forgiven, before you leave this world. Are you really going blame others, including God, for the choices you made? Nobody forced you to sin. Nobody is forcing you to have faith either. It is a choice we all have to make for ourselves. Regardless, if you have faith in Jesus, and love the Father, your sins are forgiven. It doesn't have anything to do with what religion you choose, or not choose. It doesn't have anything to do with how much money you give. That would be good works, and you can not justify yourself by this unless you can justify yourself by all good works. Don't let any one tell you different. Tithing will not get you into heaven. Neither will casting out demons. Christ said, though you cast out demons in my name I know you not. It's not our place to judge others, not even demons. It's our place to love one another, love the Father, and have faith in his promise of forgiveness. This is our hope of salvation. No other exists. It is not wrong to have earthly pleasures, its wrong to love them more than you love God. That is where it becomes a sin. If you have turned your back on faith, in favor of an earthly pleasure, then you have sinned. But your sins can still be forgiven if you turn your heart back to the Father before you leave this life. Not just publicly, but truly in your heart. The choice is yours. So don't blame any one else, least of all God. He gave you this hope.

A truly loving god wouldn't punish his "children" for not loving him in return. That's just selfish. And jealousy? Don't get my started on that. An all-powerful being having one of the worst and lowest of human traits?

I was confused about this one too. But the weird part about all this is that we still have free will. It's almost impossible to understand, but we still have the chance to change our ways. God knows us so well that He knows the "potential" in us to change.

But our free will is still up to us and it's our own decision to make. He doesn't make that choice for you.

What's the point?

We can all agree that the Christian god knows who is going to hell, and who isn't. I see no reason why God would create people that he is sure will go to hell.

The whole concept is man made - created for power (be in monetary power or power over a group of people) IMO.
If it doesn't make sense, it's probably not true.

quantum mechanics doesn't make any intuitive sense... why would you require it from a diety?

You answered your own question with this word: DIETY
A diety is an alive being that (according to popular culture) has a desire to interact with humans and provide for them - quantum mechanics has none of these things.
And I'm sure QM makes sense to some people....albeit a few perhaps.

I think you may need to grab a dictionary and look up deity (my crappy spelling not withstanding). To save you time it means God.

A deity is none of the things you described... excepting when it chooses to be so.

Actually, my understanding is the QM makes no intuitive sense to anyone but the numbers work so it is accepted with all its oddities... fascinating stuff that frightens and confuses me.... so I reject it lol

No, the definition of deity is not God...Come on now....
Noah says: the rank or essential nature of a god; a god or goddess; one exalted or revered as supremely good or powerful. It says nothing about it meaning "God". Perhaps you should have asked Noah before posting such an incorrect claim...

And with that, you just described why the concept of God exists - fear and confussion over things not understood.

"a god or goddess" - that's something about God (or a Goddess) isn't it?

I suspect you are restricting "God" to a judeo-christian concept because if your not then maybe you need to brush up on your critical reading skills.

Deity = God in a generic sense which is why I chose that term rather than "God" in a judeo-christian sense. As you are well aware people disagree on the concept of God.

I can be pedantic man but good lord you've taken it to new and heretofore unknown heights... hat's off.

And with that, you just described why the concept of God exists - fear and confussion over things not understood.

that was actually unfrozen caveman lawyer and he wasn't really frightened or confused.... just amused at how easily some people are lead down the path

Yes. This says of A god, not of the God, as you claimed here: "...To save you time it means God." You capitalized the G as a name of the christian god, not just any god. You need to learn proper english if this was a mistake.;)

Agreed. People will believe anything that fits their fancy (See here I used the term God, not god or a god, which means the christian god). But that's OK, so long as they don't use that belief to affect others who don't share that belief.
