WI Strips Collective Bargaining

The Wisconsin GOP removed the collective bargaining language from Governor Walker's budget bill. A non-spending bill does not require a quorum. The measure passed 18-1. It is hardly an odd development though the phrase End run around Democratic senators who left state to prevent passage from this article sure is. Is it really an end run? Maybe a double reverse? What ever one calls it this fiasco is over for now.

I believe I mentioned the fact that the Dems weren't needed for non-spending bills.

It'll be rough for them to complain that the GOP voted on the issue considering the lengths they we to in order to prevent a vote.

I guess we can consider reintroducing the union issue as a non-spending bill the equivalent of a cloture vote and the Dems lost.

So much for being about the deficit.
Those Republicans are going to lose all of that "union support" they always get.

They'll lose when the recalls go thru. Everyone that supported this bill is going to feel real stupid when WI goes Blue and it's only 2011. ;)

But they can't recall the governor because he has not been in the required year. There may be some recalling done on both sides. But republicans don't really worry about making unions mad. They already know unions always stick with the democrats. And the sad thing is the democrats know it too. Unions are a single party tribe. That was one of the things they always hounded us on when I was in the union.:D

This ^ is a great example of you exemplifying what you accuse others of

You don't even know what the WI requirements for a recall are. They cannot be accomplished this year. Your claim of fact is an expression of hope based on nothing but your emotional reaction to legislation in WI. There's not a fact to be found.

1) File an EB-1 (not before candidate has been in office a year)

2) Collect signatures (264,365) within 60 days of filing

there are a few other steps that are busywork but its an uphill climb at best
