Okay but let's assume that something will happen, then try to present some logical hypothesis? Here is one, not a prophesy but just lining up a few things that we know exist in science and theology, or spirituality if you prefer.
1. Earthquakes.
2. Celestial alignments.
3. "End Times Prophesies”.
4. Heightened geo-political tensions in the Gulf-Mid East.
5. Chinese demographics.
Until relatively recent times earthquakes were few and far between. They are happening more and more often now in places where they used to be thought of as rare, such as the Western Hemisphere. Other such things are storms and animal attacks on people.
The people making prophesies say that there will be an unusual alignment of multiple planets on December 21, 2012, which could theoretically have unusual gravitational effects. One such effect could be pulling on Tectonic Plates. We know that it is slippage in these plates that causes earthquakes.
The Bible has predicted in the Book of Revelation that the end of the world (as it defines it) will not happen until certain events occur. Two things actually named are natural events such as animal attacks and earthquakes happening more frequently. Both have started. Another is the re-building of the old Temple of God on its original site. The Jewish Wailing Wall in Jerusalem is actually the last remaining wall of the old Temple of God. Rebuilding has not yet happened because a major Islamic temple sits on that site. It is called the Dome on the Rock, a big golden dome. Israeli authorities have stockpiled all the materials necessary to rebuild the Temple. The materials are quite precisely listed in the Old Testament. So far it has been politically impossible for Israel to rebuild the temple because of the Dome on the Rock. However there are hawks in Israel who are waiting for the chance.
We all know that the whole Gulf-Mid East region is a military tinderbox waiting to blow. Iran threatens Israel. Israel threatens Iran. The Saudis are afraid of Iran. Everybody else is afraid of the Saudis and Iranians. And on and on, all because of the huge oil reserves that could be of vital strategic importance. The region is also ultra religious, and in these circumstances it is not impossible to imagine some event of religious importance pushing over the first domino.
So imagine what could happen if an earthquake caused by unique gravitational forces shattered the Dome on the Rock on December 21, 2012? Israeli authorities seize this as an opportunity to rebuild the Temple of God. Islam rises. Region wide war breaks out. Outside forces are dragged in. The Bible actually talks about the eagle, the lion and the bear getting involved in the last war. China now has many more men than women, and cultures with that surplus in past history have often gone to war. That could be part of the source of the multi-million man armies from the east that the Bible mentions. Add to that the 900 million-plus population of India?
Probably not, but maybe what the prophesy means is that the world starts to go into its final tail spin in 2012, not that it all happens at once. If we imagine for a moment that something will happen then try to figure out what, this is as good a scenario as any.
