Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords (D- Arizona) was shot earlier today in Arizona. News just came out, hopefully she is alright.

Yes, it is unfortunate how prone the general population is to the actions of extremists such as the man who shot this Congresswoman.
According to WSJ a Federal judge was also shot at the scene and other news sources say several others were as well.
If both sides don't tone down the noise I fear there will be more of this. These people have all these political battles and can remain friendly. But they forget millions of people are into it for real. They take seriously a so called "call to arms" speech. Just like some think the WWE is real.

It was a head shot and several other officials present are confirmed dead. Looks like someone was hopping to decapitate the Dem presence in AZ. I hope I'm wrong but if this is politically motivated, I fear for the blow back considering the current state of our politics.

One of the doctors working on her said he is optimistic of recovery which is good. Unfortunately, that can't be said for all the victims.
