What you guys think about the talking between US and Talibans?

why didn't US not hear to taliban when were they attacking afghanistan?
Why now they are prepared to talk?
Will US forces will leave afghanistan? Or they might make bases there?

and there are many questions which might be going through the minds of many people, lets come and solve it....

i might gave you answers from afghan's perspective and in return will know american or international perspective too!

Much of what will happen will be decided after elections. Right now it looks like many here just want to cut and run.

I also think you need a change in leadership. I know we want to work with Hamid Karzai. But he seems to be playing against the US at times. I for one don't trust him. But I also don't trust our government either.:unsure:

How does pointing out we funded the Taliban in a discussion about our engaging the Taliban diplomatically serve no purpose? You're saying diplomacy with the Taliban is irrelevant to a discussion about diplomacy with the Taliban. :giggle:

David is misinformed when he states that the United States funded the Taliban. There is one of two possible mistakes he is making.

1. He is confusing the Taliban with the Mujahideen who we supported against the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. The Taliban actually was started several years (two or three, depending on what you take as its starting point) AFTER the Soviet withdrawal from Afghanistan as a reaction to the feuding armies of the various warlords that were reducing Afghanistan to chaos.

2. He is confusing our support of Pakistan (which I personally think has been and is extremely counter-productive) and particularly money supplied to the ISI (Pakistan's top intelligence agency and the ones who basically created the Taliban) who in turned sent some in the direction of the Taliban because they liked the idea of a Pakistani proxy controlling Afghanistan.

David should perhaps review his history more carefully before making such incorrect statements. Of course, he could be referring to the several private supply contractors who supposedly paid under-the-table money to the Taliban to avoid having their convoys and operations attacked.

Uh, the Mujahadeen ARE the Taliban.

The Soviets never invaded Afghanistan. They were INVITED by the ruling communist party to help them defeat the mujahadeen (today's Taliban). That's like saying you INVADED England during WWII.

1- For your information! taliban didn't attacked USA and they didn't had a role in 9/11!
technologically, financially, technically and diplomatically they were too weak to do such operation! and No afghan was had a little hand in that incident!
They did one thing that USA considers to enlist them in their top enemies was to not hand over OBL!
We afghans have traditions, we would not let our enemy if he came to us!
But taliban due to that incident was prepared to gave OSAMA to another islamic country, where under islamic law his trial would be done!

But Americans didn't listend and attacked, Bombed with phosphorous! and killed more than 1 lack peoples.... So for us they are Freedom fighters irrespective of their ideology and thinking!

Honestly anyone that is into beheading, blinding, and amputating as punishment would be considered my enemy. It would make no difference who they were or where they came from. And why would the US consider "Talibans" a friend? They don't seem to even be friends of the people of Afghanistan.

Uh, no. We gave them $43 mil in May, 2001 (our last payment). We were quietly allied with the Taliban for their help in the Drug War until they refused to hand over OBL.

Go and read rahim ullah yousufzai's articles, he is journalist which twice interviewed mullah omar, he says:
that mullah omar told me that i told osama you are just as a guest, be here but don't do your operations from here, and when america was attacked i talked with OBL that you had a hand in this operation? he said no!

that's why taliban didn't hand over OBL directly to America! but said we would deliever him to Saudi araiba or other country but not to america!

Still we don't know who had hand in 9/11!!!!!
there are many conspiracy theories and that's why i don''t believe that OBL would be having hand in those attacks.....
