U.S. Budget Watch: national debt would increase with all candidates except Paul

A report done by U.S. Budget Watch suggests that the tax/spending plans of all the GOP candidates except for Ron Paul would lead to greater debt despite the ongoing insistence by everyone that they are fiscally conservative. Of course economic activity can't be perfectly gauged, but I don't see a reduction in deficits with any of the candidates except for Paul even with a stellar economy.

Mr. Paul is the only Republican in the GOP race I would consider voting for.

And Paul has zero chance of winning, so my choice will most likely come down to Obama or the Libertarian candidate.

Paul's views scare Republicans, especially his foreign policy stances, which I see as the best of all candidates.

Agreed. I don't think Paul can win either and I am not really sure who I would vote for in the general election (if anyone at all). If Santorum wins the nomination I might make it a point to vote against him though.

Santorum is far too conservative to beat Obama. Everyone knows general elections are usually decided by Independnts and moderates, and he appeals to neither.

If Santorum somehow wins the GOP nomination, look for Obama to take 370-380+.

I still believe Romney will take the GOP nomination.

I certainly could never personally support someone as socially conservative as him.

It is one thing to have personal beliefs. However, when you want to push those beliefs onto others, I draw the line.

There might be some propoganda out there but what I am saying is of my opinion based on the facts (even if they might be inconvenient facts). And what my opinion is that he has no shot at winning. I actually think he knows it too and he is furthering his ideology with this run which can still be a good thing. I would have liked to see him be more competitive, but it just isn't going to be enough this year.

I firmly believe Paul has zero chance of winning, and I am in no way part of the "established power base."

I am simply a realist.

Mr. Paul is the only Republican currently in the race I would vote for. I like him a lot, but know his foreign policy visions are too different for Republicans to elect him.

Absolutely correct. I am all for bringing our soldiers home and saving money. But I don't trust him to pull the trigger under any circumstance.

It is looking like I may break my own rule and skip voting for president. Just vote on the other races.

Seems like the republicans will make sure Obama stays in. Heck I have not had a president for 3 years, I can last another 5.
