Who is "el kaide"?

El Kaide is the original name of the terorist group in Afgan territory. They had armed and supported by the West and US.

Thats why they were able to run a big territory out there, just like a legal government. So that politic moves are not related directly to religion.

Show me some scripture from the New Testament where Jesus condones wife beating or anything else in the New Testament that condones wife beating.

There is none that I am aware of but there are other questionable things. Including the dominion thing- I don't care if it says as Christ has dominion of the church. That is not right. Women are equal to men, men even if married do not have dominion over their wives.

And do you STILL not understand that modern Islam and most of the people who practice it do not take everything literally (including the wife beating thing) just as most Christians do not take the Bible literally?

Oh, I see. They made a big mistake when they attacked the USA.

You like to have your cake and eat it too. Dominion is not beating. You look at "dominion" as something it isn't. I think I'm done here. You really don't understand what you're debating. Thanks. See ya.

I never said dominion was beating- maybe you should go read what I said again. But I think I know why you are done- because you see that both the Bible and Quran are not taken literally and that bothers you because you are indoctrinated to not like the Quran and to think the Bible is God's word and any competitor is bad. Well, YOU can't have your cake and eat it too. Sorry, the universe is not governed, was not made by, or does not at large care about a few fairy tales written by men.

No, acutally you're done because you will not admit the Quran condones wife beating. You twist things to your advantage when you need it. You're dishonest. I don't debate dishonest people.

I never said the Quran does not condone wife beating. I said ISLAM (and Islamic peoples) does not condone wife beating at large. Maybe you should read my posts a little more carefully before getting all riled up ;)

The Quran is Islam and Islam is the Quran. The teachings of Islam are contained in the Quran. The Teachings of Christianity are contained in the New Testament.

No one is getting riled. I said I don't debate with dishonest people. Islam is evil. Christianity isn't. That is according to the Quran and the New Testament. It takes a liar to deny that fact.

How am I dishonest? Just because I disagree with you does not make me dishonest and if you think it does, that makes you dishonest :p

Anyway, the Quran and Islam is not synonymous just as Christianity and the Bible are not synonymous. Even within Christianity you have so many sub-groups and different interpretations of the Bible. If they all interpret it differently, you can't characterize the whole religion by the text because everyone doesn't even agree on what the text means.

Do you believe muslims who beat their wives and murder people in terrorist attacks are following the teachings of the Quran or not?

They might think they are, they may not. But I can tell you one thing- most Muslims do not think those people are following what the Quran teaches.

I didn't ask you what they "think". It's a simple question. Try again.

Do you not realize that the "teachings" are subjective? In other words, what it teaches is open to interpretation. That goes for the Bible too (hence the discrepancies between various groups within Christianity). Interpretation is a large part of understanding in any context.

Now I will tell you what I believe. I believe that most of the people do not see "beat your wife" as a teaching of the Quran. Because they do not interpret that part literally.

Okay, I'll try this approach.

Is it written in the Quran to kill the unbeliever and is wife beating also written in the Quran?

Sure. So what?

Is it written in the Bible that man has dominion over wife? Is it written that the planet is the center of the universe or that it was created in 7 days? Is it written that the Earth is 6k years old? Is it written that slavery is allowed within the rules given in the Bible? The answer to all these questions is yes. But most Christians today don't take it literally and as a result these parts are not a major part of modern Christianity. Do you agree to that or not?

Thanks. Therefore, when muslims beat their wives and commit acts of terrorism, they are just doing what is written in the Quran. When Christians murder or beat their wives, they are NOT acting like Christians because their New Testament tells them that it is wrong.

Would you agree or not?

Respond to the rest of my post please. By your logic, when the US had slavery those Christians too were acting out of the Bible. Right?

Is it okay to stone an adulator, burn a witch or kill someone for eating shellfish and wearing mixed fabrics? That's what the Bible says.

Thank you, I am not well-versed enough in the Bible to come up with many examples off the top of my head.

I said New Testament. The Christian Church's doctrine is found in the New Testament. Answer my question.
