A shame that the question of why replica guns and CS gas cannisters have a place in a Mosque hasnt been answered. Perhaps he opted out?

Wow, I had to go this far back to recover the topic.

Yeah, I am catholic, our churches can be a bit odd what with relics and all, even I am creeped out by that. (I wanted to be an undertaker) but religious need for weaponry, sometimes it seems religion runs amuk.

No need what so ever for such things. Religion is supposed to be a place of peace. I am saddened by the need of religions to have enemies, what a sad state of affairs.

I am probably about as exposed to guns as a777pilot was at my age, minus the military experience, I do not carry my side arm to church. You can't have peace in this world without peace in your heart.

Even the Queen expressed concerns about Hamza who has been propagating his extremist views using Britain as a platform for a decade but the EU's human rights laws so far prevented the UK from deporting him to his home country because he could be subject to torture in Jordan and the US finally stepped in to help its closest ally out and other suspects were linked to terrorist activities such as raising funds for al Qaeda.

That sounds very benevolent, I hope that was sarcastic. Loads of countries think they're America's best friend. Let's face it, the US doesn't exactly have a spotless record when it comes to Human Rights.

Also, if raising funds for terrorist organisations counts as terrorism (George Bush would undoubtedly say so), why don't you prosecute George Galloway?

Thanks, comrade. I presume the Left has suffered since I've been gone?

I've been a lone voice. That is if you can even call me left, I'm more center-right on social issues such as abortion, law and order, militarism, etc.

Meh, I don't know. How much of the Left is economics? Last I heard, even the Left itself hadn't agreed on that one.

I think most would agree that things like AA, pacifism, feminism, etc. are leftist social issues.

Right to strike, gay marriage (or as I like to call it - marriage), anti-fascist movements...

Homosexual marriage is a tricky issue. We like to think of it as a leftist but outside the West even the most hardline leftist is opposed to it.

I think we have to be careful with awarding some their left-wing credentials - some haven't quite earned it.

I'm pretty sure a supporter of socialist economics is a leftist. ;) The problem is this doesn't really translate into social issues (just look at Stalin).
