I assume all wars have been filthy; none clean and all with unintended civilian loss of life. But there is an unspoken social agreement when you live in a country that provides so much.
That agreement, in essence says that we provide freedom and in turn when you are called...you go.
Of course viruses do not adhere to such and instead seek only to consume and destroy the host they feed on.

If a savage and merciless War Machine invaded the USA the way the Americans invaded Vietnam, there would probably be many women and children fighting against it.
However, I was thinking more of the satanic bombing campaign (three times the tonnage of the entire Second World War) which will forever be a stain on the memory of the USA.
