Funny how Americans have been schooled to regard everything that happens as the work of Presidents - the weather, the market, your wars and so on. Time they learned something about how capitalism works, you'd tend to think.
If you go into a university library here in North America, you will find mile upon mile of shelving about American presidents in the US history section; in the British history section, it's league upon league of books on British royalty. In both cases, little is to be learned about fundamental motive forces in the two societies.
When I visit sections devoted to electoral systems, I find a few, paltry shelves about what is arguably the most fundamental way to promote democracy.
Moral: go to the smallest most obscure section of a library to find the most important matters to investigate!
