Turkey intervened as a guarantor power on 20 July 1974 in conformity with its treaty rights and obligations.

As a result of the Turkish military operations, management of the military oligarchy was destroyed in Greece and Cyprus. But this island was already divided after the civil war, whcih ended up with this operation.

Turkish republic of northern Cyprus is de facto independent state for over thirty years but only recognized by Turkey.

So, I ask what's the difference between Cyprus issue and Kosovo,Sudan etc.

Kosovo is recognized by every major Western power and Sudan is as legit as Turkey, the UK or France so far as recognition goes. Not sure what your point is.

UK or France, as a blog just follow the USA's policy.

I'm just questioning the isolations( economic and political) on the TRNC and looking at some other examples such as Kosovo,Sudan etc. Already, As long as Turkey continues economic and political support for the little land, it can not be isolated, even thought it, this situation unsustainable.

Maybe the solution will be annexation.

Taking land from a bunch of crazy Greeks who think they own the land, have nothing to lose and have this odd Idea about reconquering their empire won't end well.

''Taking land from...'' is a wrong statement. For long years, the land under the control of the Turkey already. TRNC and TR accepted the two-state model solution for the reunification of island but, other side does not want to share sovereignty with the people that they still call 'minority'.

But annexation is another possible solution, depending on EU and US relations.

If Cuba was to annex Gitmo, the US would feel violated despite Gitmo being Cuban. Same applies to the Greek view of Cyprus. So yes, 'take' is the right word to use when thinking of the Greek response to annexation. Try it and NATO will find itself having a civil war.

I don't think so, ''the Greek response to annexation'' will be and can be no different then the response to the current situation and ongoing military presence.

The same way, NATO and West will not risk anything it has for this issue, as it didn't since this date of 74.

But, for such a politic act, TR should choose true time. Remembering the Alaskandarune(Hatay)issue. All world accepted the unity of Hatay and Turkey aganist a possıble turkish-german cooperation before the second world war. Same way, When everyone's interests to comply with it, should act. They didn't till this time. And our goverment still belive in a UN backed solution for unification of island.

Greece isn't the West. Greece is an illogical (ironic considering they invented logic), nationalistic mob with nothing to lose and everything to gain. This isn't only for Turkey, the whole of Europe needs to be wary of the Greeks being rash.

Who thinkin that invented logic ?

Scientific and philosophical developments in ancient times were the product of a geography, from north Africa to Europe and this interaction between regions, not the invention of a groupman.

İn the end, they are some people that making a blood donation campaign to be given only for Greeks, unaware of the blood groups, and medical science, not be taken too seriously.

But at one point, I need to agree with you. They used the veto blackmail to EU and opened the doors for Cyprus with it's non-validity constitution. But, they have seen that legal juggling is not chaning anything in realty. But it just harms EU.

A small country under the ''occupation'' and a debt crisis, as a term president of the EU, will solve all these issues.
