No it's democratic. All the votes in each state count.
And yes just because it is in the consitiution doesn't make it right, I agree. And thus we have three branches of government to amend the consitiution when necessary.
I'm sorry , but I don't think they are going to see a bunch of butt hurt Clinton supporters as making it necessary.
The voters in Dakota (either of them) have 4 times the say as the voters in California. How is someone (a minority) being able to vote 4 times while someone else (a majority) can only vote once democratic? The EC also drowns out minority votes in a state, Florida would be far more Democratic and California far more Republican (probably be Redder than Texas honestly) if states voted per person rather than as a bloc.
There is nothing democratic about the EC, it's intent was to give less populous (in terms of voters) slave states an equal say as more populous free states. 1st the North than the South had threatened to leave the Union and it was hoped (vainly as it happened) that an equal say would keep everyone happy. Now that slavery is a non issue and populations have concentrated along the coasts, it serves no purpose. All the EC does is let a hick in Nowhere, USA dictate who the president will be. This is why big EC states are so vital to the election. A person who sweeps up the interior can win the presidency with ~25% of the popular votes, grabbing a handful of these states to keep them under 270 and picking up a state like Texas is the only way to win the election for 99% of canadates.
