In which case you pass into oblivion. A god may indeed exist but not the Abrahamic personal god that this topic is about.

On what basis do you assert this claim?

Have we not just acknowledged that we cannot know until we do, and then it doesn't matter?

If that is true then you cannot assert X doesn't exist even if Xprime may.

Yes, I am familiar with the idea. I got sloppy and didn't do justice to it in my description.

fair enough..

Fair enough, but even if they offer reasons, why do you care?

Stupidity annoys me. If one chooses to deny God and offer a basis that makes no sense and I can demonstrate that perhaps they'll consider the matter more deeply. They may reach the same conclusion but at least they've given it more thought.

Out of curiosity do you do the same towards people who believe in God and try to offer reasons? Potentially even with yourself?

As a general matter I don't challenge people of faith if I differ with them on the "why" question. They have their faith, its theirs to explore. Now, if I am challenged by some one else I'll play but I don't initiate that with another (though I'll step in sometimes as a third party when some one else gets challenged... the point is, I don't volunteer until some one asks, demands, provokes etc)

The non-believer isn't exploring anything, they've declined to do so or explored a bit and then shut the book on the topic.

W/myself.... constantly. For my part, exploring a bit, deciding I believe and then shutting the book is no different that the non-believer who did the same.
