How much is anti-intellectualism holding us back?

The arrogant delight in their arrogance. The fact that you think people don't matter proves my point. Thanks for being so predictable.

Never said that. Any logical person who at least attempts to think objectively and reads this thread can see which one of us two is searching for objective answers and which one is throwing out the tremendous body of work that has helped humanity so much just because he finds it either uncomfortable to let his intuition wrong or because he is too lazy to actually find out what science means. Sure, I might have come off a bit strong, but your way of thought is holding back this world and humanity tremendously and some things need to be said. It is not personal, you might have been indoctrinated to think that way as you were raised and you just can't leave that comforting position now that you are older (ironically, science might partially explain such behavior too due to synaptic plasticity).

I'll rather side with the likes of Einstein, Feynman, Pauling, Tesla, etc. any day over anyone who is as close-minded as you.

You don't side einstin, you parrot out his phrases and think it makes you smart. Anybody can read a book.

"people who matter" now you are also a hypocrite. I know what is coming next. So predictable

People like Einstein knew that science was a better way to observe the world than intuition and they didn't argue silly things like you that suggest facts and opinions are all one and the same- opinions. Also, what phrases of Einstein's did I "parrot" out? Or are you just making things up again?

Einstin knew he had to go against the academic world, at points in his life. You have religious faith in the academic ideal. It is all a game. I walked away from a masters in so called science because it was extremely biased.

Intuition plays a huge role in learning. If you don't understand that you will never advance.

What do you do, work, student, what?

What are you basing this on? That is far from the truth.

I never said intuition is not important, I said it is often wrong. I am not sure whether you do not comprehend what I am saying or if you are just not reading what I am writing properly or if this is just trolling on your part. Please do us both a favor and read what I write before you reply and mischaracterize what I have said.

I have worked and I am a student.

I have worked and I am a student.
You are compartmentalizing reality.

Is a lawyer who graduated from Yale or Harvard going to be more likely to get a job at the primer lawfirms, than one who put himself through state university. much like the concept of indulgence.

If I disagree with a professor am I wrong? Because I had professors that sure thought so.

Until you get into reality, you have no idea what it is.

The most ironic thing here is that scientists question the world and findings probably more than any other group of people. But again, you haven't taken the time to understand what science is before you decided to start bashing it.

You seem pretty certian. Was the Twain quote ment ironically?

I am a scientist, I question everything. But most of all I question people and their motives. That is a science in its self.

I haven't taken the time to buy into your convetion. More like I walked away because the academic world perverts science. Nobody questions them because people with pseudo intelligence mock them for not playong the buy a degree game

What kind of scientist are you? You seem to know very little about how science works to be a scientist. Also, the academic world and science is not mutually exclusive.

And when you say no one questions them that proves to me you do not understand the scientific world. EVERYONE questions EVERYONE. That is what science is. That is what peer-reviewed work is all about. It looks at FACTS (and yes, facts exist- for example 1+1=2) instead of intuition or influence (although the latter can help add credibility, but is never the basis of conclusion in real science).

The academic world would like to believe it is.

Why in the hell can't i question them.

I am a psychologist, I do not practice because I have no degree. The amount of bias in that feild made me exit

You can. That is the whole point. But what you do is not question, but flatout deny things without offering valid reasons for why. (i.e. the monetary theory debate we had)

When did I ever deny anything flatout??

I wasn't the one denying a large body of scientific and intellectual work without offering valid reasons as to why ;)

I wasn't either

You are putting words in my mouth again.

You must only read three words out of everyones posts

I simply stated it doesn't answer the whole question. And if you weren't busy trying to put me down you would have understood that.

I'm not playing the back and forth name-calling game with you. I'm not 4 years old. I wasn't the one questioning the quantity theory of money (without valid reason) or saying that changes in monetary inflation affect the real price of gold.

You are still on about that.

You were saying gold could become worthless and people would continue to use the dollar after the fall of the united states government. Thats delusional.

That has nothing to do with what I just said and I am not going to start that debate with you again.
