Your belief is not important or required and I am not a liar. I am however most definitely a "Fair Weather' voter just like everyone who bothers to form opinion before casting a ballot. The Republican party has abandoned much of what it was 20 years ago, even ten. When I voted Reagan or for his VP, or even HIS son Republicans stood for the "Conservative" standards I wanted and were honest political brokers who got great things done. The party today is far from what was conservatism and now is immoral and spend happy to the point of being much the oppsite of what I learned was conservative thinking.
This new Trumpist wing is actually rather disgusting to me and if it is what being Republican requires then I am not Republican any more. I have in fact registered Independent for the first time out of protest and to no longer be in any way affiliated with this corruption of something I once believed in.

Donald J Trump won the Republican nomination. Republicans and the other Republican candidates got upset with Candidate Trump when he would not take the pledge to accept whomever won the nomination as the party's candidate and pledge to support him. He was blasted for not agreeing right away. The RNC was afraid that if Donald lost he might mount a third party challenge taking much needed votes away from the Republican candidate who did win the primaries.

You were never a Republican. You may have called yourself a Republican. You may have voted Republican. But you were not a Republican. A candidate that you didn't like won the party's nomination and you bailed. Not only did you change your political affiliation to Independent, you have railed against the party's choice of candidates.

I believe in border security. I understand that we need a wall because future administrations could simply decide not to keep border security measures in place. I believe that being in this country is a privilege not a right for those that are not citizens. They need to come here the right way. I believe that we need to cut government spending. I believe that taxpayers should keep more of their hard earned money. President Trump believes these things.

Have you ever had your federal income taxes go down due to a bill signed into law by a Democrat president? I haven't.

It is not a good idea for any staff to debase members or call them liars...actually it is poor technique even as a member. Unfortunately I cannot ignore you or you me, so I will simply state I am done trying to discuss ANYTHING with you and move along trying to improve this forum.

How many times have you said that you were done discussing anything with me? Let's be real here. Who else are you going to have a discussion with? We are the active members right now. You can call yourself an Independent but you aren't. You are a liberal. You are a Democrat. Maybe you don't know it yourself but you rail against the president and you want him to fail in every way. So do the Democrats.

He was a cardcaring part of an org, supported that org's ideals, helped place that org's leadership in positions of power but then, decades later, that org heads in a direction he doesn't like so he leaves. Suddenly not being part of the org now magically makes his entire adult life's history go 'poof'? Did you actually think that thru or just react emotionally.

I'm a Republican. I'm not a fair weather Republican. My candidate in the primaries wasn't Donald J Trump. Truthfully, I thought that Trump had no hope of winning against lifelong politicians. But I'm a Republican. I don't bail because my guy didn't win. When I hear someone say they are an Independent, that is just a fence sitter. Someone that will go whichever way the current political winds blow them.

Tecoyah may believe he was a Republican and he may have voted Republican. But as soon as a candidate won the primary that he didn't like, he bailed. Isn't that just what the Republicans were afraid Donald J Trump was going to do if he didn't win the primary? Isn't that the pledge that all the Republican candidates were required to take and Trump was hesitant?

Trump is the President of the United States. Are you still an American? If so, he's YOUR president. Like it or not, that's the truth.

I'm American by birth, but southern by choice. I was born in Akron but moved to Georgia. Don't tell my neighbors they'll start calling my that kind of yankee.
